When you sign up for a Dropbox team account, you'll be prompted to set up an account on dropbox.com as an admin. To use Dropbox, you need to log in to your account with the credentials you selected during this initial setup.

I definitely have the correct login credentials. But every time I try to log in, dropbox is not sending a confirmation code via email, and Chrome is complaining that captcha is blocked. Dropbox and the captcha host have allow popups settings enabled, and third-party cookies enabled for both.

I want to use Dropbox for my file share application, using Core Dropbox APIs. I am using OAuth 2.0 APIs for authentication (Implicit Grant Method).The issue is, In order to obtain the access token, I need to be logged-in to dropbox account or it redirects me to Dropbox login page. I don't want my users to enter the login crediantials.

Since you want to use your Dropbox account to store the files, there's no reason to bother other/your users with a login: just obtain an access_token for your client in the regular way (which requires you to login to Dropbox) store it in your application and use that access_token in your calls to the Dropbox APIs. Dropbox' access token never expires according to Dropbox Access Token Expiry so that should be all you need.

I installed dropbox.py, which in turn installed ~/.dropbox-dist. I ran it successfully and "linked" it to my account; changed preferences e.g. proxy stettings etc. If I restart dropbox it doesn't ask for password and remembers settings -- that's good.

Question: How do I tell dropbox that it's one and the same device and user, and make it remember the settings? Why doesn't dropboxd look into the folder .dropbox it created in my home directory with all that information? Does it use some sort of Host ID and what is it a function of?

I assume you're using Firefox (you didn't mention what you're using). Try opening the inspector pane, select the console and then clicking on the dropbox login button. The error message displayed may give you a clue.

Has anyone tried using dropbox to share a database from a imac to an ipad?

I have created a dropbox account purely to do this and I can see that dropbox has a copy of the database but it will not apparently let me open it as I seem to need my ipad roots app to see a database which I cannot link. I am not needing to pay for Dropbox for the size of the file in question.Nor do I need Dropbox for anything else. Seems a poor app to me but?? Can I connect my mac to my ipad pro by cable and would that work? Sorry to be so stupid.

RM is a computer program and does not run on iOS.

Just upload your tree to ancestry and use the excellent free ancestry ios app to see and edit your tree on your ipad. Ignore dropbox.

Jerry; apple mobile devices use a separate operating system different from apple computers. Apps can be designed to use files transferred directly from mac to pad or shared through iCloud. Older cruder apps used a klutzy approach like dropbox.

AFAIK, There are no HP MFP's that print from or Scan to Dropbox directly (May be wrong), they all scan to a dropbox folder shared from a PC, or forward to a software on a PC that relays the scan to dropbox. (Again, may be incorrect here)

Thank you for your response. I am trying to transfer files from dropbox to Klaviyo. Zapier does not do this. Is there any other programs that would work. I have hundreds of photos I will be using in my campaigns and will need to import them into Klaviyo. Also I don't see a good way to organise my files as I upload them. I don't want them all going into one large folder that I am going to have to scroll through each time I build a campaign. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am already adding words to the file names for search ability. But it would be nice to be able to separate my photos into folders.
