The integration of machine learning (ML) with remote sensing technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Drones (IoD), is revolutionizing multiple sectors. Drones equipped with ML algorithms are now capable of processing large volumes of multi-modal sensed data—such as images and videos—enabling autonomous and intelligent operations. This synergy is fostering innovative applications in areas like agriculture, environmental monitoring, and disaster response.
However, to unlock the full potential of these systems, several challenges remain. These include long processing times, the integration of heterogeneous data sources, and the lack of standardized systems. The emerging capabilities of quantum processing offer new opportunities to address these obstacles and drive the development of integrated, intelligent solutions.
In the upcoming workshop, participants will explore how ML can enhance the processing and analysis of multi-modal sensed data from various sources, significantly improving the capabilities of networked drones and sensing technologies. Real-time processing of images, videos, and sensor data is crucial for enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency in dynamic environments like agriculture and disaster response.
We invite researchers to submit their original research papers to this workshop, contributing to the growing field of intelligent networked drones and sensing technologies.
The workshop will be held on 27 May 2025 in conjunction with the 26th IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (WoWMoM 2025), in Fort Worth, Texas (https://wowmomconference2025.uta.edu/index.html). All accepted workshop papers will be included and indexed in the IEEE Digital Library (IEEE Xplore), showcasing their affiliation with IEEE WoWMoM.
