Thanks to some assistance here, I am just about complete with my Raspberry Pi Drone build to include all the software setup. The only remaining issue is in regards to powering the Raspberry Pi. I have the Pi currently being powered by the Pixhawk Telemetry 2 port and its insufficient even with the LIPO battery fully charged as the Pi shuts down after about 30 or so seconds. I can plug the Pi in to power it through the USB-C port to get all the software installed on it, but I need a solution so I can fly the drone with power to the Pi from the LIPO battery. I saw another forum message with the suggestion to power the Pi by tapping power from the Pixhawk servo rail. Would this then replace the telemetry 2 power to the Pi GPIO pins or would you run this power to another location on the Pi?

Not sure why you are having this issue, and sounds like something else is going on. The kit is robust as per the course. But you can tap from the Pixhawk power rail as long as it has power, eg, from an esc. So you would cut the telemetry power and ground wires then connect separately to the rail. The TELEM2 port signal wires are left alone.

1] The UBEC can provide a reliable power source when you have other devices that load up the power demands of the drone such as range finders, optical flow, LEDs, servos, gimblels, cameras, etc. The flight controller is not designed really as a power source, but it is normally ok when you have low power demands.

You are correct, making this compensation is not a good solution. I thought of possible reasons this might occur, eg, backward orientation of the fc, wiring incorrectly, etc., but those would cause roll or/and yaw problems. You probably already ran through the course instructions, double-checked the wiring, re-calibrated in Mission Planner. Did you double-check you have the correct frame/class setting, ie, quad X ?

Does a Motor Test in MP check out correctly?

I followed the " Write Dronekit Script to Precision Land on Aruco" video managed to make the drone takeoff and detect the aruco market, however during landing the drone does not maneuver to position itself on the marker and lands vertically. I tried to double check if there is any error messages but theres none. Anyone could help me check out if theres anything wrong with my code?

Thanks for sharing that 3/4G chip, I had never seen that before! Imagine flying your 4G drone BLOS from your couch with a laptop- of course I would NEVER do this, FAA I might have to do some tinkering with that!

Regarding motors:

Are you able to connect to MP via Telemetry?

Yes, per your recommendation, I read the MP messages tab where it said I didnt have a frame configured, solution:

MP > setup > hardware > frame type, selected quad

A following error didnt allow to arm because it said I was missing a compass,so I just removed it:

MP > setup > hardware > compass > remove missing

then start the calibration with the steps shown in the course

Regarding internet connection to MP:

I was able to then connect using /dev/ttyAMA0.

the course video how to build RPI drone > initial setup > connect drone to MP via internet

shows the steps on connecting using IP, is that only for Navio?

recently I've been looking into drone building, and it seriously has peaked my interest more than anything else, I've been abit hesitant on taking the plunge & building my own drone because im worried about my own product knowledge. I'm not sure what are good brands and what are junk when looking into independently buying parts.

I was thinking of going with the Dojo Drone raspberry PI kit for 800 dollars as the idea of being able to control the drone with python has peaked my interest even more. Is anyone familiar with the kit? There is an unboxing video on YouTube but I'm unsure if the parts are actually quality parts or junk or if I'm just overpaying in general.

In this blog, we will be learning how to program some basic movements in a drone with the help of Python. The drone we will use is Dji Tello. We will learn drone programming with Scratch, Swift, and even Python.

We must first instantiate the Tello class so we can use it afterward. For the following commands to work, we must switch the drone to On and find and connect to the Wi-Fi network generated by it on our laptop. The tel.connect() command lets us connect the drone to our program. After the connection of the drone to our laptop is successful, the following commands can be executed.

"I've honestly learned more over the past 2 days on Didgeridoo dojo than with any other online teacher.

There are absolutely no didgeridoo teachers where I live so I've tried multiple sites. At first I was skeptical of your site and thought it was just one of those scam sites you have to give all of your info to and pay. But I signed up anyway after looking into it a little.

The way you teach makes it fun, and understandable in the simplest of terms which made it incredibly easy for me to learn my didge quickly. I've recommended it to my friends already!

I'm so happy that I found it and happy that I am finally able to learn!"

"Wow i'm soo surprised about didgeridoo dojo!! it's such a great "school" to improve playing the didgeridoo! i'm already back in germany with my didg and practise every day with didgeridoo dojo!! but it's so great and thank you very much for it! you're a great teacher and because of you i already improved a lot!"

"Hi Sanshi ... im loving the didgeridojo.. i have only had my didge since august, i got it as a 40th birthday present !!

Most of the techniques i have learnt are from seeing you on the internet !!

I'm a percussionist and play in a few different types of bands. Just last night i played for the first time in public. i was at an outdoor rave party performing with an electro band that i regularly gig with.. i Miked up the didge, and put it through some reverb and a bit of delay to enhance the sound... the guys in the band could not believe it that i have learnt so much so quickly.

Just wanted to let you know how much im enjoying the dojo lessons , and i will have to join up properly when my free trial runs out.

Love you work sanshi .. cant wait to learn more so i can play better !!"
