Dr. Lemma Lessa is an associate professor of Information Systems at the School of Information Science, Addis Ababa University; and a certified management consultant. He obtained his PhD in Information Technology (specialized in Information Systems). He has over twenty-five years of experience in the Ethiopian Higher education. His teaching, research, and consultancy interests are Information Systems Policy, Strategy and Governance, E-Services (focus on e-Government), Digital Transformation, IT Governance, IT Project Management, and Information Systems Security Management. He has authored or co-authored over fifty articles - ten journal articles, six peer-reviewed Book chapters, and about thirty-eight peer-reviewed conference papers. In his career, he served in different administrative positions including College Librarian at Defense Engineering College, Chief University Librarian and Director for Information & Communications services at Defence University; Department head and Postgraduate program coordinator at the School of Information Science, AAU; Member of Institutional Review Board (IRB) at College of Natural and Computational Sciences at AAU; Software project manager at TechSol software development PLC; senior manager for business management solutions at CIMAC Microsoft Dynamics ERP consulting PLC; and more. Dr. Lemma is a Certified Management Consultant. He participated in the preparation of several national and institutional policy and strategy documents including (a) National ICT in Education Policy for Ethiopia; (b) Digital Skills Country Action Plan (DSCAP) for Ethiopian higher education and TVETs Institutions; (c) Institutional e-Learning Policy Guideline for Higher Educational Institutions in Ethiopia; (d) ICT Strategic Plan for Ethiopian Higher Learning Institutions and TVETs and (e) E-Learning Policy and Guideline of Addis Ababa University. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and the current president of the Ethiopian chapter of AIS. As an entrepreneur, he is the founder and manager of UltraPerfect IT Training and Consultancy service (https://www.ultraperfect-ittc.com).
