Wellbeing Psychologist


About me



As the Manager of the Center for WorkLife Wellbeing at ChristianaCare, I direct a team of wellbeing psychologists and researchers who develop, deliver, and study programs to promote and sustain the wellbeing of healthcare professionals. I am a former Post-Doctoral Fellow at The Drexel University Center for Weight, Eating and Lifestyle Science (WELL Center) working with Dr. Meghan Butryn. I received my PhD from the San Diego State University / University of California, San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology in the Behavioral Medicine track. I worked with Dr. Niloofar Afari at UC San Diego and at the Center of Excellence in Stress and Mental Health at the VA San Diego Healthcare System. I completed my clinical internship in Clinical Health Psychology at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. My previous work involved improving quality of life for older adults in the domains of health, transportation, and planning at the MIT AgeLab with a focus on technological innovations and engineering systems. My Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Biology is from the University of Toronto where I received research training at the Clinical Research Lab at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

Research Interests




  1. Optimizing and disseminating interventions for mental health and health behaviors to promote wellbeing and help individuals thrive when facing challenging life or work circumstances.

  2. Examining influences on health behavior engagement and mechanisms of change in interventions, especially for coping with chronic conditions, such as obesity, cancer, and pain.

  3. Designing and studying novel interventions for mental health and health behavior change, such as mindfulness-based interventions, just-in-time adaptive interventions, and technology-enhanced remote coaching.



Clinical Experience




My clinical experiences, training, and areas of practice are in assessment of and evidence-based treatments for:

  • Weight management and disordered eating behaviors

  • Adjustment to illness, palliative care, psycho-oncology

  • Chronic pain

  • Insomnia

  • Stress management, depression, anxiety

  • Lifestyle health behaviors and chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, post-stroke, GI conditions)

  • Tobacco cessation and substance use

  • Sexual health

  • Pre-surgical evaluation and readiness, concerns during inpatient medical hospitalization

My personal interests include fitness, yoga, mindfulness, exploring nature, cooking, short stories, traveling, dogs, and all things French.
