Know Me, Joei S.M. Ong

Hello, I am Joei, a deaf individual who navigates the world with the assistance of a cochlear implant system. I also live and grow with the unique perspectives that come with Asperger's Syndrome. I have spent my life constantly learning and making sure to share with others the valuable things I've picked up.

I believe knowledge should be easy for everyone to get so it can help people succeed. Having dealt with my own unique difficulties, I work hard to make sure I create inclusive environments where people feel supported in their learning journeys. Sharing my experiences and insights is a core part of who I am and how I choose to live my life.

As a Digital Teacher, I am dedicated to creating positive change through digital tools in Special Needs Education. My efforts and initiatives include:

Coaching Teachers: Leading hands-on training and workshops to help educators use digital tools such as Google Education Tools, Apple Teaching Tools, AR/VR technologies, and AI apps in their teaching.
Empowering Special Needs Students: Creating customized digital learning activities to improve students' cognitive, motor, character-building, and social skills while encouraging creativity and problem-solving.
Innovation and Collaboration: Building interactive, tech-based projects such as Metaverse Digital World, AI ChatBot, and STEM e-learning modules to bring exciting learning opportunities to my classrooms.
Building Capacity: Advocating for and securing resources to keep the Special Needs Department (PPKI) equipped with the latest tools and technologies for transformative learning.
