This is the for Dr. Janet Tassell from the School of Teacher Education at Western Kentucky University.

I am a Full Professor in the School of Teacher Education and serve as the Undergraduate Director. I have been at Western Kentucky University since the Fall 2008 semester. I submitted my portfolio for promotion to Associate Professor in the Fall of 2013, and earned Tenure and Promotion in August 2014, then earned Full Professor in August 2020.

I am originally from Stendal, Indiana, a small town in the southern part of Indiana, population of 200 people. All of my educational degrees were earned from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. I am married to Brad, an author and comedian, and have one daughter, Darby, who is an amazing storyteller/speaker and budding entomologist attending Indiana University! These two make life incredibly exciting for me as we travel and take all kinds of adventures together as a family.
