This Privacy Policy explains how Driver's iD ("we," "our," or "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use Driver's iD, we collect:
Name – used to identify your account and enable core app functionality
Email address – used for account creation, login verification (one-time password), and account management
Home/mailing address – collected as part of your profile
Phone number – collected for account purposes and, unless you choose to hide it, shown to other users so they can contact you (for example, to reach a vehicle owner). Your phone number is retained in our database even if hidden from other users, for emergency purposes.
In-app messages – if you use the in-app messaging feature instead of sharing your phone number, message content is collected and shared between you and the other user involved in the conversation.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to create and manage your account, authenticate you at login, enable core app features (including allowing other users to contact vehicle owners), and maintain a record for emergency purposes.
Analytics and Diagnostics
We use Firebase (including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics) to understand app usage and diagnose technical issues, collecting device/other IDs, crash logs, and diagnostics data. This is shared with Google (Firebase) for analytics and app diagnostics purposes.
Data Sharing
Phone numbers and in-app messages may be visible to other users to facilitate contact between drivers and vehicle owners. Device ID, crash logs, and diagnostics are shared with Firebase/Google. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data Security
All data collected is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers.
Account and Data Deletion
Delete your account anytime via Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app, or by emailing driversid2019@gmail.com with subject "Account Deletion Request." Data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
