Mercedes Project one
AMG and Mercedes' Formula one team, Petronas, have partnered together to develop a street legal Mercedes AMG sports car that carries the same technology as a Formula one vehicle. The car, Project ONE, is equipped with a 1.6 Liter turbocharged V6 engine powered by four electric motors to make an unbelievable 1,000 HP.
The four electric motors will give the car insane torque off the line and will make the AMG an all-wheel drive car. Car and Drive reports that Mercedes claims that the car is able to go from 0-124MPH in less than six seconds. One of my favorite details of the car is the big "Shark fin" that the car has on the roof. Obviously it serves the purpose for better aerodynamics, but it looks pretty sick.
In the video you can hear the beautiful sound of the V6 engine screaming around the track. Mercedes claims that the pre-production model of the car is already being tested on the track. The car is specifically designed to be extremely aerodynamic when going at high speeds. The next step for the Project ONE is to be tested on the Nurburgring. There are no numbers yet on the price of the car, but according to Car and Driver, deliveries are expected to begin early 2021. Thanks for reading, stay buzzed.
