GMC TEASES HUMMER

Big news just broke! GM released a pretty inspiring video on their social media regarding the Electric Hummer. In the video we see LeBron James speaking while clips are being shown of the Hummer. GM plans to unveil the Hummer in Fall 2020 and take reservations as well. The video said that production would begin Fall 2021. The pictures shown above are screen grabs from the video on their social media.

It looks like the Hummer will have quite a large "frunk" and more of a compact pickup truck from the silhouette that they showed us. We did take some notes from the video that seem pretty intriguing.

GM claims that the Hummer will have around 1000HP and an impressive 11,500 lb-ft of torque! That is a crazy number for any vehicle. To put that into perspective, a current F250 can produce around 1200 lb-ft of torque. It will be able to go 0-60 in 3 seconds. It also looks like the Hummer will be equipped with GM's Ultium battery technology capable of super fast charging as well (read article to learn more).

GM is not letting the off-road market get away from them either, the Hummer will have at least two modes. One of the modes that it will have is "Adrenaline Mode", I believe that this mode will probably be like Tesla's "ludicrous" mode. In a Tesla that mode allows the drive to use the battery power to the full potential for really fast driving purposes. The other mode is a little more mysterious and it's called "Crab Mode". I do not have much information on this mode but I believe that it will be focused on off-roading.

A few other things were mentioned in the video like Infinity roof and modular sky panels. Looks like the Hummer will have a removable roof like the Bronco and Jeep. This seems like a necessity nowadays if you want to compete against Ford and Jeep. Like I mentioned before, we are entering a new era of automotive vehicle technology. If there is a time to pay attention that time is now. Thanks for reading, stay buzzed.
