Zahir Malik

It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing away of Mohamed Zahir Ahmad Malik on Friday 4 June 2021 after a short illness. Loving Husband to Naima Akhtar. Father to Alim, Muin and Farah. Father-in-Law to Lesley, Patrizia and Tim. Grandfather to Cameron and Aiden.

Zahir Malik was one of the most experienced Advocates in Kenya. In 2003 he was appointed Senior Counsel by His Excellency President Mwai Kibaki. Former Chairperson of the Law Society of Kenya, Founder Member of the Asian Foundation, Member of the Standing Committee on Human Rights (He was involved in drafting the Human Rights Act), Member of the Board of Governors of Dr. Ribeiro Parklands School, Nairobi and Barrister, Grays Inn, Advocate High Court of Kenya, Past Member of The Auctioneers Licencing Board and Task Force for Laws relating to Auctioneers and Brokers and Member of International Academy of Trial Lawyers (since 1976).
