We remember with great fondness, Maria Philomena Millicent Correa, who passed away on Monday, January 25th, 2021 at Credit Valley Hospital. Milly was one of a kind and will be remembered by the countless friends she kept close over the years. She was proud of her heritage and an active participant of the GOA community, devoting herself to bringing the community together. She was kind hearted, always willing to lend her support to those in need and provide comfort to those around her. She will be missed mostly for her joy of life, her unique gift of humor, always drawing out a smile and a laugh from anyone she encountered. We will remember and appreciate the infinite humorous moments, stories, and advice. May God welcome you into his kingdom and reunite you with loved ones passed. Wife of the late Geoffrey Placido Correa, daughter of the late Norbert and Anna Menezes, sister of the late Nevis (late Mable Menezes) and Marina Noronha (late Fred Noronha). Missed by her surviving Correa and Menezes relatives. Milly will be cherished by her family, children Irwin/Ariana, Gavin, Glynis/Michael Ratos, Everett/Julie and grandchildren Arielle, Austin, Ethan, Jasmin, Eve, Louie and Katie.

Milly was so many things, a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Aunt, Godmother, friend, teacher but she will be remembered mostly as a Mother and beloved Nana Banana. Her life’s journey began 84 years ago in Kenya, Africa. It was a life not without obstacle and struggle and although those things contributed to whom Milly became, they were lessons of triumph to her family. They made Milly the strong and compassionate woman she will be remembered as. Her kids do not remember the tales of struggle because Milly focused on the positive always. Her children will remember the stories of growing up in Africa, the beautiful beaches, the fresh fruit, the funny stories of family and friends. They will remember the stories of her meeting the love of her life, Geoffrey, and the adventures they took together. How they moved to Canada and worked hard to raise kids but more so, the joyful moments. Going to GOA dances and events, inviting friends over for grand parties at any chance, traveling and laughing together. The joy of life was poured into the joy of grandchildren in her later years. Milly was a doting Nana to her 7 grandchildren. She always had them on her mind and would call them to just see how they were and keep up with their lives. She was happiest when they were eating at her house. It’s safe to say those that enjoyed her food most captured her heart the most. Even when mobility became an issue it didn’t stop Milly. She had Geoffrey to be her legs and she was the ultimate navigator. We remember catching them holding hands in bed and the loving example of what a marriage should be. There is comfort in knowing Milly and Geoffrey are together again. Milly was so many things and now she is one more, our angel in heaven. Forever the voice in our conscious, forever guiding us from afar. We will honour her legacy by living the example she set. Love, forgiveness, compassion, positivity and purpose.
