With the City of Lafayette Parks Department, I had the opportunity to be involved in many large projects: like the construction of two new waterslides. Projects of this caliber require excellent communication skills in assuring completion in a safe and timely fashion. For this project, I was given the task of managing a group of employees as we worked tirelessly to complete the landscape and concrete.
I spent countless hours building signs and communicating with locals and local businesses that could adopt the responsibility of caring for various public areas. These late hours required me to build honest and trustworthy relationships with my chain of command and the security program.

Another project I helped to complete is Loeb Stadium, host of the World Series. Immediately after its completion, I was given the responsibility to manage and oversee the maintenance of the facility.
Art in the Park invites local artists to come put their work on display for all to see. Local bands, live radio stations, food trucks, and other entertainment create an exciting atmosphere. I was responsible for communicating with the event planners and organizing the physical layout of the event. I was also tasked with aiding our local artists and local businesses set up and clean up their displays.

The most recent project was Crosser Sports Complex, a youth baseball and softball facility. I was troubled with time management as weather continued to prevent progress. I was for organizing the schedule for heavy machinery to be delivered to the job site so that construction operated efficiently.
These various projects have granted me nothing more valuable than the opportunity to develop relationships with important figures of the community. I have had the pleasure of holding many conversations with public officials, business owners, as well as being invited to dinners and celebrations hosted by the mayor upon the completion of various projects.
