I am a third-year PhD student working on a CIFRE contract with Renault (French automotive manufacturer), with my research centred on consciousness in the driving context. More specifically, I study mind-wandering, a form of inattention that occupies a considerable amount of our waking live, and I am particularly interested in how it occurs behind the wheel, and what it means for driver safety. My work focuses on identifying physiological, neurological, and behavioural markers linked to these episodes of inattention. By better understanding how a driver's attention drifts from the road, I hope to contribute to the development of effective countermeasures that can re-engage attention and make driving safer.
