The First Deathguide, or the hallori of death, was the first being to extensively study the grey beyond. They started helping lost souls, but ended up asking Kasw for advice when the work became overwhelming. Kasw's solution was to take inspiration, as they often did, and give energetic souls the ability to persist after death as a new type of being: deathguides.Â
