With over 27 years of teaching experience, I have served at prestigious institutions such as Bharathidasan University, the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli, and Durgapur. My academic journey spans more than two decades, with a focus on research in Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Biometrics.

During my tenure, I had the privilege of participating in collaborative research at the University of Texas, Arlington, U.S.A. under the TEQIP–I project, resulting in the publication of an IEEE conference paper. As a one-week Guest Faculty at Caledonian College of Engineering in Muscat, Oman, I guided two faculty members to successfully complete their Ph.D. under joint supervision.

I extended my collaborative efforts with esteemed institutions like CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute in Tamil Nadu, India, and CSIR-Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. These collaborations culminated in the joint supervision of Ph.D. candidates and significant contributions to the field.

A member of Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Phase I & II projects, as well as TEQIP – I and II projects, I have been involved in shaping educational initiatives. My scholarly endeavors include the grant of one patent, the publication of three books, four book chapters, and 118 research articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences, with notable recognition in Google citations (1269), h-index (17), and i10-index (31).

I played a pivotal role in the development of the M.Tech. program on High-Performance Computing and the Ph.D. program on Computer Science at NIT Durgapur. This initiative, launched in the academic year 2014-15, has successfully admitted two batches, receiving an 80% positive feedback from students.

As an academic mentor, I have guided six research scholars to Ph.D. completion in the years 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2021, with four scholars currently working on their Ph.D. Additionally, I have supervised 26 M.Tech., 11 M.C.A., 29 B.Tech., and 20 B.Tech. internship projects, with ongoing projects involving 5 B.Tech. students and 2 M.Tech. scholars.

My commitment to academia is reflected in my role as an organizer of numerous conferences, seminars, and workshops. Serving as a reviewer for reputable publishers such as IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and ACM, I am also a board member for several peer-reviewed international journals. Recognized for my expertise, I have been nominated as a Board Member for Ph.D. viva voce and as an Indian examiner for several Ph.D. theses in various universities.

Beyond academia, I actively engage in social activities in rural areas near Durgapur, West Bengal, contributing to the community and fostering a holistic approach to education and research. My academic and social pursuits reflect my passion for advancing knowledge and making a positive impact in diverse realms.
