Draw to Search — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 June 2026
Extension: Draw to Search
Draw to Search is designed to work with minimal data access. The extension does not collect, store, sell, rent, or share personal data on developer-operated servers.
What the extension does
Draw to Search lets the user select an area of the current web page, preview the selected image, and manually send that selected image to a chosen image search engine.
The extension only starts after the user clicks the extension button.
Data handled by the extension
Draw to Search may temporarily handle:
the visible page area selected by the user;
the generated image crop/preview;
local extension settings, such as selected search engine, selection type, overlay opacity, and auto-close timer.
The selected image is kept temporarily in the browser only for the purpose of showing the preview and opening the selected image search engine.
Image upload
Draw to Search does not automatically upload images.
The selected image is only sent when the user clicks Search image.
When the user clicks Search image, the selected image is sent directly from the browser to the chosen third-party image search engine, such as Google Images/Lens or Bing Visual Search, using that service’s web upload flow.
Those third-party services may process the uploaded image according to their own privacy policies and terms. Draw to Search does not control how third-party search engines process uploaded images.
Local storage
Draw to Search uses browser local storage only to save extension preferences, such as:
selected image search engine;
selection mode;
overlay opacity;
auto-close timer.
These settings remain in the user’s browser.
What the extension does not do
Draw to Search does not:
use analytics;
use telemetry;
use advertising trackers;
sell user data;
collect browsing history;
operate a developer backend/server;
run remote scripts;
upload images automatically;
access all websites permanently.
Permissions
Draw to Search requests only the permissions needed for its core function:
activeTab — temporary access to the current tab only after the user clicks the extension button;
scripting — used to show the selection overlay on the current page;
storage — used to save extension settings locally.
