Video communication platform (I personally prefer Zoom, but it is just a personal preference.)
(See below for a really useful, mind-blowing tip for Zoom!)
Video communication platform; Several teachers prefer this because the students use their Google accounts to log-in. Works well with Chromebooks (although Zoom does, too).
The expressiveness of video with the convenience of messaging. Fast recording, instant sharing, easy editing, and controlled viewing.
Video communication platform; Personally I think the chat feature is limited and the sense of "community" is missed. But that's honestly just a preference.
100% Free for Educators!
Engage and empower every voice by recording and sharing short videos.
This is personally what I use. I love it! Allows you to record screen and webcam simultaneously. Very user friendly, and no download required. Video can be published immediately. Free version has a small logo at the bottom of video and is limited to 15 minutes. I pay (very cheap - like $19 a year) to get so many more features... worth it! I'll tell on myself... I screen record a lot of my PD sessions so I can look back on them later!
Google Chrome extension that allows you to record voice, screen, and annotation. Free version allows up to a 5 minute video. Premium version is $29 per person. HERE is an easy tutorial video.
Engage students with video. Record your voice and screen to create dynamic video lessons. Works well with iPad.
Comes in very handy for synchronous teaching! You can share your screen and still see your students!
It's in the Advanced Screen Share options...
Click "Share Screen" in Zoom
Click "Advanced"
Click "Slides as Virtual Background"
Select your PowerPoint presentation file (No, this currently doesn't work with Google Slides, but you can easily download your GS as a PPT.)
Click "Open"
Once the presentation is imported, the slides will be your virtual background. When your camera is on, you will be on top of the slides.
You can resize and move your video.
