Martial arts classes in Eckington since 2013
About our Classes
Under the tuition of Chief Master Terry Walton (6th Dan) with over 25 years martial arts experience our students learn a mixture of taekwondo, karate and kickboxing.
Our classes teach students the martial arts skills, techniques and abilities required to grade from white belt through to black belt master grades.
All classes start with a light stretch/warm up set at their current fitness levels before supporting them through their tried and tested belt grading syllabus to towards their next belt grades.
Aswell as working on their syllabus in class they study kata, sparring skills, self defence techniques and many other aspects associated with studying and training in martial arts.
As students progress through their goals and start gaining experience we tailor their training to suit them. This can be to focus on competitions, weapons training, teaching classes themselves, learning new styles etc.
Overall our classes are planned to be enjoyable, rewarding, confidence building and a release from the day to day troubles life throws at us.

Safeguarding
The Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts has been created to give parents and carers peace of mind when searching for martial arts clubs suitable for children or adults in their care.
Funded by the National Lottery, this scheme was launched by the Sports Minister in early 2018 and is delivered through a group of partners and experts in safeguarding such as the Child Protection in Sport Unit (NSPCC) and Sport England.
We are proud to have been awarded the Safeguarding Code in martial arts.
Dragons Academy acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring our safeguarding practices reflect statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with our safeguarding in martial arts recognition.
