Gameplay took place in open arenas (such as forests, caves, and, castles) in-game while players working in teams of four as two warriors, a mage, and a priest stood and moved around in a 65 x 39 foot playing field with each group of players divided into sperate teams. All players were required to wear a set of personal equipment provided by HTC Vive consisting of the headset with headphones and mics all powered by a MSI gaming laptop backpack, and special controllers specially modeled and fitted to represent each class, a small modeled sword and shield for the warriors, and small wands and gloved controllers for the mage and priest.[81] Weapons, armor, skills, and spells were set for each class by default and were determined by each of said class:

In Dragon Quest XI, the player character is a warrior chosen by the world tree Yggdrasil to save the world of Erdrea from a being of pure evil known as "Calasmos". After Calasmos is defeated at the end of the game, Yggdrasil bestows him the title of Erdrick.

Dragon Warrior, its sequel, Dragon Quest II, and its prequel, Dragon Quest III, make up a trilogy with a shared timeline.[21][22] The story's background begins when the kingdom of Alefgard was shrouded in permanent darkness. The brave warrior Erdrick ("Loto" in the Japanese versions and Game Boy Color remake) defeated an evil creature and restored light to the land. In Erdrick's possession was the Ball of Light, which he used to drive away enemies who threatened the kingdom. Erdrick handed the Ball of Light to King Lorik, and Alefgard remained peaceful for a long time.[3] The Ball of Light kept winters short in Alefgard and helped maintain peace and prosperity for the region.[23]

However, there is one man who shunned the Ball of Light's radiance and secluded himself in a mountain cave. One day, while exploring the cave's extensive network of tunnels, the man encountered a sleeping dragon who awoke upon his entrance. He feared the dragon would incinerate him with its fiery breath, but the dragon instead knelt before him and obeyed his commands. This man, who is later discovered to be a dragon,[24] became known as the Dragonlord.[23] One day, after his soul became corrupted by learning magic,[24] the Dragonlord attacked Tantegel Castle and the nearby town of Breconnary with his fleet of dragons and set the town on fire. Riding a large red dragon, the Dragonlord descended upon Tantegel Castle and stole the Ball of Light. Soon, monsters began to appear throughout the entire land, destroying everything in their paths.[23] Much of the land became poisonous marshes, and at least one destroyed town never recovered and remains in ruins.[3]

The Dragonlord is a dragon who rules from Charlock Castle, which is visible from Tantegel Castle, the game's starting point.[7][8] His soul became evil by learning magic.[24] Rumors say that, through a spy network, he knows everything that happens in Alefgard.[30] He seeks "unlimited power and destruction",[24] which results in a rising tide of evil throughout Alefgard.[3] The Dragonlord wants to enslave the world with his army of monsters that he controls with his will.[8][30]

The identity of the Dragon Warrior was a mystery for a thousand years. Tigress shared a small piece of the legend behind the Dragon Warrior, saying that the warrior could "survive for months at a time on nothing but the dew of a single ginkgo leaf and the energy of the universe." It is unknown where this piece of the legend originated from, but Po disagreed when he was told this, saying "[he]'ll need a lot more than dew and 'universe juice.'"[3]

The way this build work is to apply different status effects to your enemies, and in doing so you're not only taking their HP away faster but, thanks to Kindred of rot's exultation and Lord of blood's exultation talismans, you are boosting your own damage as well. You can achieve these by giving bleed or poison to your weapons through ashes of war, and using weapons with scarlet rot on them like the Antspur Rapier or the Scorpion's stinger. The build itself is pretty flexible because you have several options in the game to help you out with status effects. The dragon communion seal is the best choice cause of his Arc/Faith scaling, the Black knife is a good choice in any build to start a fight cause of the debuff you can apply with it. The bloodhound's step is a great choice for fast combat, but any ash will do as long as you choose poison or bleed damage for your weapon.

As an alternative for status buildup you can choose to use coating incantations as well as consumables, with that in mind i recommend switching Scarlet Aeonia for Black flame blade, Bloodflame blade and Poison armament, and also to make room for Vyke's dragonbolt which is a great damage booster overall. But bare in mind that going this route will prevent you from applying ashes of war to provide bleed/poison and arcane scaling on your weapons.

Released in 1986 for the Famicom, 1989 for the NES and a bunch of other release dates for various ports by Chunsoft, Dragon Warrior (also known as Dragon Quest) is the game that spawned the JRPG franchise. The player controls a young hero with the aim of defeating a being known as the Dragonlord. Along the way the hero must collect the stolen 'Balls of Light', and the cover of the game box features a dragon that looks suspiciously like the one from Dragonball. Hmm. I wonder if you get a wish at the end.

As a pioneer in the RPG realm, Dragon Quest games have a reputation for being "bread and butter" representatives of the genre. The player advances through the game by carrying out predetermined actions directly related to the progression of the plot, such as collecting a key item or defeating a particular antagonist. Usually, one of his first orders of business is to gather a party of like-minded warriors to join him on his quest. As the party traverses the landscape and various dungeons, they will be forced to fight (or, if they choose, flee from) enemies based on a "random encounter" system. Later in the game, the party often acquires improved transportation that may allow them to avoid such skirmishes. Battles are turn-based; the player delivers combat instructions each turn from an in-battle menu system. Some games feature AI that sees all party members but the Hero character responding to situations based on various factors at hand, sometimes including general orders such as "Attack ferociously" or "Go all-out with magic."

Once upon a time, the Balls of Light illuminated the kingdom of Alefgard, keeping its winters short and sustaining its peace. However, a man who could tame dragons and hence known as a Dragonlord, became corrupted by his magical studies. He attacked the Tantegel Castle and stole the Balls of Light, causing monsters to roam the land. A valiant hero named Erdrick, who had obtained the Balls of Light for the kingdom in the first place, attempted to defeat the Dragonlord and disappeared without trace. Many years later, during the reign of King Lorik XVI, the Dragonlord abducted Princess Gwaelin, carrying her to Castle Charlock. One day, a knight appears in front of the king, claiming to the be the descendant of Erdrick. He is entrusted with the mission to vanquish the Dragonlord, as the prophet Mahetta has predicted.

The Good

Dragon Warrior was the first real RPG for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). You play as a descendant of the great warrior Erdrick sent to save the princess and slay the evil Dragonlord. Standard RPG conventions abound: purchase equipment, fight random battles to gain levels, talk to NPCs in various towns scattered across the world... This is basically the template for all of the early Japanese RPG titles. I'll admit that I didn't play this game back when it came out. In fact, I didn't even own an NES and, unlike Final Fantasy or Crystalis, I never watched someone play this game either. My opinions therefore are not tainted with nostalgia nor are they informed by the time period in which this game was released.

Long ago, a man named Loto (Erdrick) returned peace from the hands of evil. The peace came in the form of the sacred Ball of Light. Loto returned to the King with the Ball of Light and there were great festivals and celebrations. Eventually, Loto took his leave and was never seen again. Years passed and the people prospered, but one person was not happy with the way things were. He lived in the western mountain cave, far from the walls of Ladatorm (Tantagel). While exploring deep within the cave, he came across a sleeping dragon. Suddenly, the dragon awoke and the man was very frightened. As he closed his eyes to stop himself from seeing his demise, nothing happened. The man grew tired of waiting and threw a stick to distract it. Surprisingly the dragon picked it up in his mouth and brought it back to the man, like a dog. After that, he discovered he could make the dragon do whatever he wanted. He then named himself the Dragon Lord. Suddenly a disaster occurred! Dragonlord Castle (Charlock Castle) rose from its earth grave and everyone knew this was a bad omen. A few minutes later, a swarm of Slimes, Ghosts, Dragons and other monsters attacked Ladatorm and the villages across the land. Though they fought bravely, the years of peace had made the people weak. The Ball of Light and Lady Lora (Princess Gwaelin) were stolen by the Dragon Lord himself!

After this terrible attack, the people were terrified to walk outside again. Many men were killed traveling between places, and people locked their doors at night. You could hear the Slimes scratching and mumbling along the walls of Ladatorm at night. The King fell into a deep depression over his kidnapped daughter, even though the legends told of a descendant of Loto coming to restore peace. The King believed it to be a myth until one day a scrawny looking young man appeared at the King's feet and asked permission to retrieve the Ball of Light and Lady Lora. Since many other hapless warriors volunteered and failed, The King had already given up hope. But he saw a light in this young man's eyes, and knew he was the descendant of Loto. Giving various items and gold, the King sent the warrior out. Now you must guide the hero to victory and defeat the Dragon Lord! ff782bc1db
