The various types of enemies encountered in the game have their own means of attack. The basic blue-colored ninjas directly charge the player, while some leap with their swords, or throw shuriken and makibishi; there are also acrobatic kunoichi (female ninjas), attack dogs, and people who are on fire. The enemies may be beaten down or avoided. Most enemies can be beaten with only a single hit of any kind, and multiple enemies can be defeated with one hit if they are standing close together.

At the end of each level, one of the super warrior bosses will appear, who needs to be defeated to progress to the next level. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President?", while the Famicom counterpart's quote was slightly similar to the international arcade and NES quotes. The reference to President Ronnie (an overt reference to former president of the United States Ronald Reagan) was removed because Nintendo of America did not allow political content in games. In that version, the President bears a resemblance to George H. W. Bush, who was the president of the United States when the NES version was released. The endings of the Japanese and English language versions of the NES port are based on the international arcade version; however, the Japanese version does not show the credits but only shows "The End" at the White House scene and lasts a shorter time than the English version. The 8-bit home computer versions lacked the intro from either the arcade or the NES versions. The "I'm bad!" speech was only present in the NES version but it does not sound identical to its arcade counterpart.

President Ronnie, as he appears in the arcade version of the game, was ranked second in EGM's list of the top ten video game politicians in 2008.[40] In 2010, UGO wrote: "No ninja game retrospective could possibly be complete without some mention of ... The Good

The arcade original is an action filled macho game, inspired by movies of the time with their cheesy martial arts tropes. You beat up hordes of ninjas to save the president. All kind of coolness is packed into, it like fighting on the top of moving trucks and trains among others. The backgrounds/environments are pretty distinguishable on each level.

In this game your two dudes. The plot is equally hilarious as Duke Nukem comes in with two sentences. The President has been kidnapped by Ninjas. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the president? The dudes after that get their sweat pants and go on a path to beat down many ninjas. What other story said so much in two short sentences? It's so simple that you can literally make a Hollywood movie about this game.

Why do the ninjas go down so easily? I guess the standard for ninja toughness went down a few notches.

The Bottom Line

I'd give this game a solid 7/10 because the cheese is so good that you actually do enjoy this game. I mean you go around beating ninjas then drinking sodas and the environments are diverse enough. Though for the life of me why do they go through the sewer? So a Solid 7/10 is what this game gets. Give it a chance and the cheese will overwhelm and give you enjoyment!

The Dragon Ninja Clan has kidnapped the President of the United States, and it's your job to rescue him. The game is a fairly simple side-scroller fighting game, where you just kick and punch ninjas. That's pretty much it. The NES version of the game can't hold a candle to the arcade version. At the time that I played it, I found it more difficult the one in the arcade. The game has 6 levels. (I think it does anyway, it's been a while.)
