If your app is in "draft" state, the Play Console API refuses releases that are not in the "draft" state. It's unclear whether the API supports releasing without submitting the app setup forms (I filed feedback). You can then release on the web page once the draft release is created, but it's a manual step.

The problem probably resolved itself for you because by creating an Alpha channel release also completed the app setup, moving the app away from the draft state (it should say "Closed testing" in the app selector).

I was running into this as well. In the Google Play Android Publisher plugin's documentation, it states for the Rollout % field, "If you enter 0%, a draft release will be created". After changing the rollout to 0, Jenkins was able to upload new builds while the app was still in draft mode in Google console.

-The draft saved - and I even made a minor edit several hours later which also saved (Draft 1.2) (also Desktop)

-I opened the draft on my Gmail android app to add a few more pieces of text and found that the draft available was reset to Version 1.0!!! All formatted and non formatted text done since has been lost.

-Opening the draft on Desktop now also shows Version 1.0.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

At least a warning message saying that "This draft cannot be displayed on the Gmail android app - opening it will cause any changes made outside the app to be lost" would be useful at the very least...

(For other people) sometimes reason why it stays in the draft mode is just applying the rating to the application is forgotten. After you fill the questionnaire dont forget to apply rating to the app.

Unfortunately, Google will not let you delete apps (draft or published) if one person has ever installed the app (even if it was the developer testing the app in an internal test track). Even though their help page states:

At some point you probably hit "Create release" while you were in the Production Management page then left the draft there. Go and Edit that draft and click "Discard" on it then you'll be able to move an app from Beta to Prod

When I select the thread I see my previous message, and my draft text below. I select "Menu", "...More", and then "Delete" and am warned I am about to delete entire thread. Which is stupid. I want to delete my draft.

I've submitted a pull request that solves the problem for me. Hopefully other people find it useful. This allowed me to keep autocorrect enabled. I applied the changes in this PR to the v0.10.0 tag of the draft-js repo, NOT master.

Same here. But I am also noticing that it saves drafts of the same email. I sometimes have to walk away to do something and may come back a few times to complete one email, and I see multiple drafts, each with a different amount of info so it appears that instead of appending to the existing draft, it creates a new draft of the same email, just with more detail than the last!

This is because of the auto save feature, which defaults to saving a version every 3 minutes. Those multiple drafts will be deleted when the message is sent. You can turn this feature off or change the save interval by going to menu/tools/settings/mail/compose.

Under Save messages, select or clear the Automatically save items that have not been sent after this many minutes check box.

You can also use this option to change how often draft messages are saved. Enter any value between 1 and 99.

We have been field testing a survey123 application, and our staff has noticed that the option to close the survey, and save as draft sometimes fails. This usually happens if a person has closed the survey already that day, and tries to close out again. However, it isnt consistent. Sometimes it works just fine closing and saving several times in a row. When it fails, the survey form reopens without going to the main menu, and any changes you have made since the last time it was saved to drafts are gone.

Autosave will help recover an unsaved survey. If you are in the middle of a survey and the app crashes, you accidentally close the app without saving to drafts, or your device runs out of battery, when opening Survey123 app again the user will be prompted to recover the unsaved survey. The unsaved surveys are NOT saved to the Drafts folder as part of the autosave process. The unsaved survey is temporarily saved in the database on the device until the app is reopened, at which stage the user is prompted to continue or discard. The instance name used will not affect this functionality.

Saving a survey to the Drafts folder is done by selecting the close icon (X) in top left hand corner of the open survey and selecting the option to save to drafts. The survey can then be open again from Drafts folder, and will need to be saved again if the user wants to continually open and close the app and not lose changes. We currently do not have any known issues of the save to drafts option not working as expected. The instance name used will not affect this functionality, so naming the surveys the same is not the cause of the problem. The workflow for users that want to close and open Survey123 app so they can use other apps, is to ensure the save to drafts first, before closing the app.

Are you indicating that when user selects the saves to drafts option via the close icon in the survey, then close the app, that the survey does not appear in the Drafts folder later? If so can you please elaborate on this issue, give more specific details around the workflow (exact steps), device make/model, OS version, app version etc.

As to the problem with autosaving/closing and saving, we are still experiencing the same issue. when the crew has tried to close the survey and save to drafts it it doesn't close at all, it just refreshes to the last save point and loses any changes. But now we are having additional issues with a survey failing to submit at the end of a day, so there must be something else making this app unstable. I am guessing that the software on the device having an issue might be an older version, and that might explain some of the issues.

Could you please share your survey xlsx form? I would like to take a look at the questions on page 2 you are referring to. Is it only those questions that do not save answers in drafts and outbox and on other survyes are you seeing same issues on similar questions with similar parameters or calculations? Just to check, is it all questions on that page 2, or just some, if so which ones exactly?

My team is experiencing the same issue. We do not have any calculations in the form as mentioned above. In my testing it seems that this behavior is random. Sometime, this happens on my first attempt to save as a draft, sometimes on my 10th. The form was published using the latest version of Connect and is being completed on the latest version of Survey123 on a windows PC. My survey contains 5 pages. One survey record often requires at least a day to complete, so we are saving often. When the save as draft is successful, it takes us to the expected 'Draft' folder and I can see my recently saved draft. When the save is unsuccessful, it takes me to page on of my survey and all input since the last save is lost. Any additional thoughts?

My company has a requirement to have the draft folder sync to our mobile devices. Exchange Active Sync doesn't support this. Outlook Anywhere does, however I'm having trouble finding a way to support Outlook Anywhere--and in turn support draft syncing.

Create a draft email on your desktop and save it in whatever folder you want. The first time this draft email will be synched with iphone. But when you adjust the draft email on your desktop, the new version is not updated in your iphone.

It is crazy, I am not able to make the Shakespeare app from draft mode into active or what ever will be written during Google review. I was in the production area of Google Play and I have a Release like you can see on the screenshots below, but there always the draft mode. Could someone please help? Everything is German, because I am in Germany, sorry! Draft = Entwurf Production = "Produktion" I would to send the app to Google for a review and for to publish. Thank you very much.

As long as your mobile phone is connected to the Internet, after you are done typing your draft, you can click the Cancel button in the upper left hand corner. It will ask if you want to delete the draft or save it. If you click save, it will upload your draft to our servers at which point it will be available for you to edit it on any computer.

Choose whether you want to add anything to your post (e.g. images, video, and so on). Then write out the text you want and apply your chosen formatting. From there, you can either post the content immediately or save it as a draft, which we further discuss below. ff782bc1db
