Dr. V. L. Srinivas, Faculty-head of Clean Energy and Smartgrid Lab, is an Assistant Professor with the department of electrical engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. He is the faculty head with the Sustainable Energy Research Lab (SERL), while he is also the faculty-in-charge of the Electric Mobility Club at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad with Naresh Vashisht Centre for Tinkering & Innovation. He has received his his bachelors degree from the Indian Institute of Technology BHU, India, and PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2015 and 2020, respectively. Dr. Srinivas is with several projects (sponsored R&D and Consultancy) as principle investigator and co-principle investigator, while he has collaborations internationally throughout his research career. Previous to his experience at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, Dr. Srinivas has worked at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom for about two years, in association with the Centre for Integrated Renewable Energy Generation and Supply (CIREGS) of School of Engineering in the area of development of Information and Communication Technology infrastructure for smart energy networks with the focus on state-estimation and cyber-physical control issues related to energy systems, with the projects entitled “Energy revolution research consortium - Plus - Energy/REV -Next wave of local energy systems in a whole systems context” (EnergyREV Web Profile) and “Supergen Energy Networks Hub 2018” which are funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) via University of Strathclyde and the University of Newcastle. He has identified the measurements and the communication aspects in the smart local energy systems current landscape in Energy sector in the UK in order to inform policy makers to meet the UK Government 2050 carbon targets. Later, after joining IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, he has acquired various DST funded projects in India and good publications, while he has taught various courses with the sustainable energy and electric mobility, clean transportation, energy management systems and power quality. As a recognition of his research work, Dr. Srinivas has received several awards, which include, ISSS Young Scientist Award (year-2024), Distinction in doctoral research award (year-2022), POSOCO Power System award from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (year-2021) and research excellence travel award (year-2019).
