Lab of scalar transport and multiphase turbulence

Welcome to our Lab of Scalar transport and multiphae turbulent flows. 

Our group works in the area of experimental fluid mechanics, broadly encompassing interfacial dynamics, multiphase flows (turbulent/laminar), drag reduction, environmental flows, and fluid–structure interactions. This involves, for example, experimentally modelling pollution dispersion in indoor and outdoor environments under atmospheric boundary layer conditions, in collaboration with other research groups specialising in numerical simulations and experiments. Our lab also focuses on a range of problems related to the fundamentals of the interactions between dispersed phase(s) and vortices, for example, looking into the interactions of vortical structures and air bubbles or rigid particles, related to practical applications of multiphase turbulence, such as drag reduction via bubble injection in turbulent boundary layers.
