Abhishek Basu, Ph.D.(Engg.)

Dr. Abhishek Basu is Associate Professor and former Head of the Department, Department of Electronics and Communication & Engineering, RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India.

He received his B. Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in the year 2005, M. Tech. in VLSI Design from Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India in 2008, and Ph. D (Engg) from Jadavpur University, India in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor and the Faculty in Charge (Academics) of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India. He has served as Undergraduate Program Coordinator and head of the Department in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Dept. from 30/03/16 to 01/01/17 and 01/01/17 to 31/12/18 respectively. Prior to this, he was a lecturer in the Electronics and Communication Engineering department of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India from 2008-2009. Before that, he served as a lecturer in the Electronics and Communication Engineering department of Mallabhum Institute of Technology Bishnupur, India from 2005-2007. He is co-author of a book and co-editor of two volumes. Moreover has more than 60 research publications in international journals, conference proceedings, and edited volumes to his credit. He has one Indian patent & two Australian patents and also filed three Indian patents till date. His publication received the third best paper award in the 2019 First Doctoral Symposium on Intelligence Enabled Research, October 19-20, 2019. He is an active member of the Institute Innovation Cell as NIRF & ARIIA coordinator and Innovation Ambassador.

He is Co- Publication Chair, Sixth International Conference on Research in Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks, (ICRCICN - 2021). He was an Institutional advisory co-chair of the First International Conference on Research and Applications in Artificial Intelligence (RAAI 2020).  He was Technical co-chair of the Third IEEE International Conference on Research in Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks during November 03 - 05, 2017, and Co- Organizing Secretary of the First International Symposium on Signal and Image Processing during November 01-02, 2017. He was the Program Chair of the National level Conference on “Frontline Research in Computer, Communication, and Device (FRCCD 2015)” from 29th to 30th December 2015. He was a member of the organizing committee and technical program committee, National Conference on “Recent Innovations in Computer Science & Communication Engineering (RICCE 2016)”, during 7th & 8th July 2016. He is the hospitality chair of the International Conference on Intelligent Control, Power and Instrumentation (ICICPI 2016), during October 21th -23th, 2016. He is a member of the organizing and technical program committees of several national and international conferences. 

His research interests include digital image processing, visual information hiding, IP protection technique, FPGA-based system design, low power VLSI Design and embedded system design. Dr. Basu is a Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, life member of the Indian Association for Productivity, Quality & Reliability, India, and the Institute of Engineers (India). He is also a member of IEEE(USA) and the International Association of Engineers. He is also Honorary Member Indian Engineering Teachers Association (National IT and Cyber Security Research Association) Since 10th May 2019. He is also a Member of National Institute For Technical Training & Skill Development since 30.01.2022. Dr.Basu is associated with several International and National conferences.
