Daniel M. Packwood, PhD

Create novel physical properties by judicious manipulation of atomic and molecular structure. This is the basic mission of materials science and a means towards technological innovation.

Daniel Packwood is a Principal Investigator at the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) and a tenured senior lecturer at Kyoto University in Japan. Leveraging a unique background in chemistry and mathematical science, he develops new directions for nanotechnology, energy, and biomedicine on the basis of theoretical research.

Daniel Packwood received the 5th Hiroshi Fujiwara Encouragement Prize for Mathematical Sciences in 2016 and was a JST PRESTO researcher in the Collaborative Mathematics Area between 2014 and 2018.
