PRIVACY POLICY — QR & Barcode Scanner: Launcher

This Privacy Policy explains how Downroad Cafe (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information

when you use QR & Barcode Scanner: Launcher (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use the App.


SUMMARY (quick read)

• We scan barcodes/QR codes on your device and show results locally.

• We do not read call audio or record calls. The optional “After-Call Summary” only detects when a call ends.

• The “App Launcher” lists apps installed on your device to help you launch them faster.

  We do not transmit your installed-app list off your device.

• We use analytics, crash reports, and advertising SDKs (e.g., Google Firebase/Crashlytics/AdMob).

• You can clear history, disable features, or opt out of personalized ads at any time.

1) INFORMATION WE PROCESS

A. Scanning & History

   • On-device processing of live camera frames to detect barcodes/QR codes.

   • If you scan qr or barcode then “History” of scanned code value, time, and optional label may be saved on your device.


B. After-Call Summary (optional)

   • Purpose: to show a small, user-visible screen after a phone call ends so you can add notes/reminders.

   • Signals used: call state (ringing/active/ended), call start/end timestamps, and call duration.

   • We do NOT access call audio, record calls, or transcribe speech.

   • Phone numbers: by default, we do not upload or store phone numbers on our servers.

   • You can turn this feature off at any time. When OFF, it will not collect or process call-state data.


C. App Launcher

   • Purpose: quickly open your installed apps from within QR & Barcode Scanner: Launcher.

   • Data used: list of installed applications and app icons (queried locally).

   • We do NOT transmit your installed-app list or usage patterns to our servers.


D. Diagnostics & Analytics

   • We collect app events (e.g., opens, feature taps), device information (model, OS version, language, country),

     approximate location (derived from IP), and crash/bug reports to improve stability and features.

   • Providers may include Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.

   • IP addresses may be processed transiently for security and anti-fraud.


E. Advertising & Identifiers

   • We may show ads via Google AdMob or similar networks. These providers may process the Advertising ID (AAID),

     coarse location, device characteristics, and app interactions to serve and measure ads.

   • You can reset or limit ad personalization in Android Settings > Google > Ads (device options may vary).


2) PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST (Android)

   • CAMERA — to scan barcodes and QR codes in real time.

   • POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to send reminders or feature tips (Android 13+ asks you to allow first).

   • FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC — to run the visible After-Call Summary screen or

     short tasks that must finish reliably.

   • READ_PHONE_STATE and/or READ_CALL_LOG (if used) — to detect when a call ends for the After-Call Summary.

     We do not collect call audio.

   • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (or legacy storage) — if you import an image to scan from your gallery.

   • QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES (if used) — only to render your installed-app list for the App Launcher feature.

     We do not transmit this list off your device.

   You can decline any non-essential permission; certain features may be unavailable without it.


3) HOW WE USE INFORMATION

   • Provide core features (scan, history, launcher, after-call summary)

   • Maintain security, prevent abuse/fraud

   • Fix bugs, analyze performance, develop new features

   • Show and measure advertising (if applicable)

   • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use


4) SHARING

   • Service providers and SDK partners (analytics, crash reporting, ads) under contracts requiring appropriate safeguards.

   • Legal compliance (e.g., responding to lawful requests).

   • We do not sell your personal information. Personalized ads may be considered “selling” or “sharing” under

     certain laws; where required, we will honor opt-out choices.


5) INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

   • We may process data on servers outside your country. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law.


6) RETENTION

   • On-device history and settings persist until you clear them or uninstall.

   • Server logs/analytics are kept for the shortest time reasonably necessary for the purposes above.


7) YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES

   • Access, correction, deletion, portability (where applicable).

   • Opt out of personalized ads via device settings.

   • Withdraw consent for optional features by turning them off and/or revoking permissions.


8) CHILDREN

   • The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction).

     If you believe a child provided information, contact us for deletion.


9) SECURITY

   • We use technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is 100% secure.


10) CHANGES

   • We may update this Policy. We’ll change the “Effective date” and, when required, notify you in-app

     or via other reasonable means.
