Plot Summary
The movie revolves around the life of Ashu (Ahsaas Channa), an eight-year-old boy who lives with his parents (Kiran Janjani and Sheetal Shah) in Mumbai. Ashu is lonely and unhappy, as his parents are busy with their work and do not have time for him. He also faces bullying from his schoolmates and neighbors. He wishes for a friend who can understand him and protect him from his troubles.
One day, he finds a statue of Lord Ganesha in his house and decides to keep it in his room. He does not know that the statue is actually a divine gift from his grandfather (Anupam Kher), who is a devout follower of Ganesha. The statue comes to life at night and introduces itself as Ganya (voiced by Om Puri), Ashu's friend Ganesha. Ganya tells Ashu that he will stay with him until he fulfills his wish.
Ganya and Ashu become inseparable friends and have fun together. Ganya helps Ashu in his studies, sports, and hobbies. He also teaches him about the importance of faith, respect, and kindness. He saves Ashu from the bullies and the evil schemes of his uncle (Mukesh Tiwari) and aunt (Upasana Singh), who want to take over his father's business.
