ZoomIt is a screen zoom, annotation, and recording tool for technical presentationsand demos. You can also use ZoomIt to snip screenshots to the clipboard or to a file.ZoomIt runs unobtrusively in the tray and activates with customizablehotkeys to zoom in on an area of the screen, move around while zoomed, and draw onthe zoomed image. I wrote ZoomIt to fit my specific needs and use it in all mypresentations.

The first time you run ZoomIt it presents a configuration dialog thatdescribes ZoomIt's behavior, let's you specify alternate hotkeys forzooming and for entering drawing mode without zooming, and customize thedrawing pen color and size. I use the draw-without-zoom option toannotate the screen at its native resolution, for example. ZoomIt alsoincludes a break timer feature that remains active even when you tabaway from the timer window and allows you to return to the timer windowby clicking on the ZoomIt tray icon.

I had an incident where my CTRL key was stuck and the mouse wheel was adjusting the zoom level of my Windows 10 desktop. I would like to reset the zoom level back to its default, but CTRL-0 doesn't seem to work on the Windows desktop. I have no way of knowing (besides eyeballing) if my desktop is back to the default zoom level when I adjust it. Is there any way of resetting it to the default?

I also thought that CTRL + 0 wasn't working to reset to 100% zoom ... but it is only when I use the 0 key on the extended keyboard that it fails, using the 0 key one main keyboard (above P) that it resets to 100% ... I'll just need to get into the habit of using the main number keys instead of the small numeric keypad that I am so used to.

I had a very difficult time finding a solution for this. I opened a call and PTC said Windows 10 wasn't a supported configuration. Fortunately a curious co-worker discovered the fix. Not having zoom with the scroll wheel was a show stopper for me. Here's how to make it work as before:

If you are having trouble zooming in Creo with mouse wheel go to control panel>hardware sound>mouse and click on the "Wheel" tab and set the option in the vertical scrolling area "one screen at a time" this solved my problem.

I used to use ZoomWin: -scripts/ZoomWin for toggle between one and multiple windows in Vim. But this plugin has one big issue. When I`m trying to restore multiple windows(vertical split) there is about 2-4 sec delay.

There is a known issue caused by an OpenSSL bug on 64-bit zoom client 5.16.x on some Windows systems. We've opened a ticket to OpenSSL and the fix is on the way. So if 32-bit zoom client 5.16.10 can solve your issue, please use it as a workaround and wait for our official fix.

My goodness, thank you so much. I had the exact same problem as OP which started the day I installed the 2023-10 Windows 10 update. I fixed it by uninstalling the latest version of Zoom, then installing Zoom 5.16.1 via -us-zoom.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions. I spent a few hours trying to figure this out! I don't know why I waited so long to visit this forum.

Thank you so much Bruce! I have not used zoom on my desktop for a couple of months. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't start my meeting this morning or even join as a participant. It has been a frustrating morning. I have spent the last 5 hours trying to fix this problem for another meeting tomorrow morning. After trying many failed fix attempts I came across this form with your suggestion and guess what? IT WORKED! I agree with your comments and again thank you!

Zoom frequently releases updates, but your Zoom app doesn't update itself automatically, so manually check for and apply updates regularly (do the update in the app not at stonybrook.zoom.us). If you have issues updating Zoom, create a ticket.

In a Zoom meeting, when you share your screen, your Zoom windows and control bar are typically not included in the share view. You may wish to include them, especially if you are showing someone else how to use the features of Zoom. To make this happen, you must configure BOTH the browser and the Zoom app.

May I please introduce a problem which I am having? I am using Rhino 3 and have been for over a decade. I have replaced my computer several times. When I started using Rhino I loaded it on Windows XP, and now I use it with Windows 7. I have a problem which has shown itself off and on each time I load the software on a new computer. The problem is with the dynamic zoom when I roll the scroll wheel on my mouse.

My preference is that when I use the scroll wheel, the zoom will go directly to the spot where my cursor is, but often after reloading the software on a new computer, when I zoom with the wheel it goes to whatever is in the center of the viewport. It is very frustrating and adds time to my projects.

Is there anyone who had experienced this problem and found a remedy?

I still have the issue - I can't change the Scale Factor to whole numbers, 1 does'nt work, as established above, 2 turns the direction of the zoom to the opposite of what I'm used to. Secondly the zoom jumps in to large steps ... I'm working with Rhino 5,0 ... Hope someone can help - it is taking me to much time to work like this

Previously, people could sit in a conference room with a projector for document presentations, work from their multi-monitor desks, or have easy access to printed content for review. Nowadays, an increasing number of users are consuming most of their content on smaller personal screens, such as laptops, tablets, or mobile phones. With these new shortcuts, the Word Product team is making it easier than ever for you to zoom your document to the right level for your screen.

Note: When the "Dual Monitor" setting is enabled you will have two Zoom windows appear when starting your meeting, one is the standard meeting window while the other displays your meeting participants and specifically who is speaking. This may not be a preferred standard view but will provide the best user experience when sharing a screen with multiple displays. The "Dual Monitor" setting may be toggled on and off based on when screen sharing is needed.

I just switched from Mac to Windows. On my macbook I used to be able to zoom and pan using pinch and two-finger motions on the touchpad of my laptop, but on my new computer this is not working. I don't know if it's relevant, but this new laptop has a touchscreen. I found some other threads discussing a similar issue for an earlier version of indesign, and supposedly this was resolved a while back. However, running the latest version I am not able to use my trackpad as desired and it's quite frustrating as this is my preferred way of working. Is there a setting that I can change to fix this?

I'm a Mac user so I can't speak directly for Windows. But if you go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Interface section at left, you may find an option to "Enable Multi-Touch Gestures". Not sure if you have this on Windows or not but this might help. Can you use pinch and zoom in other programs on your computer?

Hey. I had this same problem and it was infuriating me. I fixed by ticking this box. Though it might have now broken zoom when using a mouse (cant test right now), the touchpad now does pinch to zoom.

Zoom is driving me nuts! I use multiple tabs and windows, and to maximize screen space I need to make some pages very small. In IE each window can be zoomed independently- but with firefox they all change if you change any window's zoom. I've tried NoSquint add-on and it adds site-specific zoom, which is still not what I need. Surely there's an add-on that allows each window to have its own zoom level.

On Windows, and I believe on Linux too, you can hold down ctrl + scroll your mouse wheel or trackpad to zoom in or out when viewing a webpage in your browser. I'm sure this used to be a system wide feature of Mac OS X too, but doesn't work anymore after an OS update some time ago. Is there any way this can be setup to work like described using BetterTouchTool?

hmmm, seems like there's been a bunch of people asking how to recplicate ctrl + zoom to scroll in a Mac.. I keep getting pointers to Bettertouch and bought it partly for that purpose but there isn't any instructions on how to do this at all. And on top of that the zoom-in trackpad gesture isn't listed as a default gesture I can "map" ctrl + zoom to... Can anybody help?

Hi, Richb, many thanks for your idea. This is a very helpful solution for me.

However, using CMD with + or - to zoom is not as smooth as the touchpad does, it seems it is the only way to do it. I still figuring how to zoom in/out by using the touchpad gesture.

One other thing somewhat related. When 17.4 was released there was an issue with the OpenGl rendering of :"NetNames" on clines. Basically if you zoomed in close to a cline the netname would become fuzzy. In HF-005 OF 17.4 Which I installed today this issue looks to be fixed. Netnames on clines are crisp just like in 17.2. Looking at the CCR for 17.4 there is no mention of this unless it is lumped into some other category ?.

Start Allegro so that it displays it's "Start Page" and load a board" Do pan and zoom etc on a moderate sized board and see how responsive it is.

Disable start page via user preferences so the startpage is turned off and restart allegro.

Load a board and do pan & zoom. see if display performance is bad. "Mine is bad" notice the circular icon showing up at the center of the cursor during zoom steps.

Higher-resolution screens are becoming more common, which means less stress for our eyes. But higher resolutions can also make some features so detailed you need to zoom in to get the full picture, find the right accessibility settings, or examine an image in detail. While this is intuitive on a smartphone, such as with the accessibility options in Android 13, it's not as clear on other platforms, such as Windows PCs. e24fc04721
