You probably have an empty (no content) Excel file. Try to edit the file and write anything in it, then use the PDF viewer.

This raises another question for Mat, how can we avoid it. How can we check if a file has no content?

Hi Matheu, thanks for wyour example, this is fantastic. I tryed to put it on action, but i couldnt with xlsx files, can you please help me to understand what am i doing wrong or if there is anything i need to do to achive that. (i can see the ppt files in the PDF viewer)

I downloaded a PDF file for my academic requirements. When I open this PDF with Document Viewer, it displays the contents of the file. However, when I start searching (with Ctrl+F) for a word in the file, it gives me "no word is found" for every attempt even though it is present the file?

Per a few other blind writers, and the suggestion in the what's new for the beta, I tried draft view in MS word 2016, Office 365, and it is, in fact, much speedier to edit documents and otherwise, but the problem I keep running into is getting word to open in draft view, rather than print layout view.

I've tried editing the Normal template directly by opening it through Microsoft word, making changes to it, adding header text, doing all the writer requirement things for literary markets, switching the view to draft view after making all the changes, then, saving by hitting CTRL S, but upon opening a new, blank, document, the view defaults to print layout view. Does anyone know of another way to always open in draft view?

I get these in daily digests, so, sorry for the late reply, but draft view strips out the toolbars and also unnecessary font styles to simplify writing. It's far speedier to write and edit documents in. Plus, the ribbon opens quicker too, for some reason. I have no clue how it looks visually, but it even increases the speed of the spell checker, for some reason. Maybe it's because I'm using an older HP laptop with a clogged up registry and god knows what else in here, but if I notice a huge increase in speed, after switching to draft view, it must be stripping visual junk out of the window. I haven't tried it on my 256 GB SSD ACER yet but I've noticed an extremely massive boost in speed and editing speed after switching to draft view. Anyway, can I tell MSW, Microsoft Word, to run Macros as soon as I open documents? The screen reader help for Macros only talks about running them manually, and my only experience with Macros is using an autocorrect backup Macro someone created for word 2003. 2351a5e196
