I seem to be getting the same sort of wifi issues as previously stated. I cannot hold a wifi connection on the 2.4ghz band fro more than 20s before its dissociated (ie i still have full connection to the router (3 bars) but cannot get through to the internet). This happens no matter what router i am connected to, whether its at home or at work.

I have tried:

I have installed Wifi Fixer on my Z2 to see if it can alleviate the problem and it does somewhat. instead of manually having to turn on and off the wifi toggle to reestablish a connection, the Wifi Fixer does it for me.Approx. every 20-30s in its log it will show the phone "dissociating" from the router, and the the app tries to "reassociate" the connection.

I can connect through wifi transfer to my Note 3 without issue, and the same goes for my TV, so it cant be a hardware fault, as the connection is still excellent strength for both (as well as the router, tested with Wifi Analyzer). This is a very frustrating problem as it makes watching youtube movies impossible, and hotspotting, skype calls, etc.....

Spoke to a guy on Sony chat. All he could say was that it was a hardware fault but i dint see how thats paossible when i can connect to my tv wifi fine, along with other phones, and my bluetooth works with my computer just fine (between the phone and computer)

Once I connect my SmartBand (bluetooth and NFC are on), the wifi signal drops and reconnect won't work. So disconnect your NFC devices and restart your cellphone. Hope Sony can solve this problem ASAP.

Both times I have captured logs for this issue I have also had an eGPU connected via thundererbolt which itself has been having issues. There may be a possibility the eGPU is causing problems on my system resulting in iwlwifi failing. However, I have already been using my laptop plugged into this eGPU (for charging & further troubleshooting) for several months in the same room and had stable WiFi until just a few days ago.

Also I did notice OOM is off and no RAM total in your inxi (I could be missing it), finally are you using btrfs, lvm, or an old school partitioning scheme? Also have you tried opening the laptop, reseating the wifi card, and verifying the antenna are properly connected?

I have a chinese allwinner a13 tablet. The firmware it had was really slow and couldn't use Google Apps so I decided to install a custom rom for it. I tried several roms, but only some were close to 100% working. Some had no working wifi, and the ones that did have a working wifi had other problems.

I am not good with android. I found a wifi fixer for allwinner a13 tablets, but for Cyanogenmod, and I replaced the files in the installed firmware with the ones from the fixer. Now when I try to open the tablet, it is stuck in the Android screen from the beginning of booting.

Are you certain there's no RADIUS server (certificates/authentication) active on your network? If not, that's a pretty big security risk for your normal operations but eases the wifi riddle. If there's some authentication going on, make sure the ANDROID devices get the proper certificates installed.

I am not sure why you were suggesting easywifi, but that aside, I can assure you that there is no Radius server on our network, as far as the security implications of not having Radius authentication for wifi we are OK with that. And unfortunately I wish it was something like a rouge DHCP server being enabled on one of the APs or another device on the network but there isn't one. I do apreciate the thoughtful response though.

Haven't been able to get my co-worker to try these things he is busy with his own work (solving a problem this way is frustrating when I don't have direct access to the tech) But we had three demo phones in here last friday, an HTC incredible, a droid 2, and a Samsung Fascinate. I tried wifi on all three of them. The Droid got to the Internet fine. The Incredible couldn't. And the Samsung worked if I pointed it at our internal proxy server (The incredible didn't have proxy settings). This is driving me crazy the phone should make a difference the traffic isn't any different than normal network traffic.

Anyways if I can find an app to set and unset proxy setting fro a specific wifi or set and unset them with just an app then I think that will be the way to go. It is simple and solves my problem without having to root any phones.

Hey all, sorry I haven't responded sooner, I have not found an app to set and unset proxy settings easily, or manage wifi networks with settings like proxy. Additionally I found only the browser works once the proxy setting is enable the marketplace for instance still does not.

WiFi Finder is an application that is made to find a new wifi connection with which you can connect and use the internet without any issue. Most of the time these public WIFI connections take time to connect due to IP allotment, but with this app, it will itself try to connect with manual IP and this will hence make sure that you are connected to the best network available and that too without much of the wastage of time. Also, this app will not move to any other network connection by itself, and will only move when the internet connectivity is not working as said.

Just got my galaxy tab s2 and there seems to be a intermittent wifi issue. Occasionally it will show the wifi symbol in the status bar with an exclamation mark (!) Beside it. When I got into the wifi settings it says 'internet may not be available'. After a few minutes it will re-connect to the wifi. This happens on both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz frequency.

I've tried downloading a wifi fixer, I've reset network settings, and turned off nearby device scanning. I've also tried doing what a forum suggested by changing the ip settings from dhcp to static but it wouldn't connect to wifi at all. Not sure what else to try other than taking it back.

As far as I know the software is up to date. Not sure another other wifi but happens on mine, both 2.4 & 5 Ghz. Still happening in the replacement tablet I got since first post. I'm thinking it is down to the android version

I have a similar wifi issue after updating my Tab S2 2016 from Marshmallow to Nougat. Same for my S8 updated from Nougat to Oreo. Before that, I was using Singtel Arcayan router. I tested with other brand of router Asus and Linksys, which solved the wifi exclamation mark problem.

I like to buy my own phones and bring them to my plan. Sometimes this results in not having the full config to make the phone work 100% on a carrier. I recently fixed issues where I could not receive MMS messages if I had an active wifi connection. When my phone is on wifi, it chooses to send and receive messages and calls over wifi instead of the cellular service. Unfortunately, I was missing this in my APN config!
