Unlike Android, iOS doesn't have any options to add a chat shortcut on the home screen. However, with the help of Shortcuts app, it is now possible to add a particular contact's chat right there on the home screen. Here's how you can do this.

But I would like to use the WhatsApp instead but due to lack of proper integration, the app fails to send selected via the shortcuts app through the WhatsApp application. The final step simply puts the pic name in the text field.

5. Go to your home screen and you should see the chat shortcut. Tap on it to directly open the chat. You can move the chat shortcut and place it wherever you want on the home screen just as you would do with any other app icon.

After adding the WhatsApp chat icon to the home screen on Android and iPhone, learn how to send disappearing messages on Whatsapp in two different ways. Also, check out how to export WhatsApp chat to PDF. Finally, know how to secure your WhatsApp.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're glad you're here, and we'll be happy to share some tips to guide you so you can create an automated shortcut using the Shortcuts app to share your location with your wife.

WhatsApp has a standard wallpaper, which will appear as a background on all of your chats. You can change this wallpaper though, with options including solid colours, your own photos as well as a collection of images from WhatsApp itself. We've got a feature on how to set custom wallpapers on Whatsapp but here's a quick summary of how to do it.

Turning on Disappearing Messages will make any new messages in a chat disappear after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days. Remember the messages can still be saved elsewhere though, and it's also possible to save some messages in a chat with Disappearing Messages turned on too. You can read more about Disappearing Messages in our separate feature. It's possible to turn it on for specific chats, or all chats.

It's possible to send an image or video that disappears once the recipient has viewed it once. This is great for photos of a password or bank details for example that contain sensitive information. When the recipient closes your picture, it will disappear, though remember, they can screenshot. You can read a full breakdown of the disappearing image and video feature in our separate feature.

Do you have a few extra special people you talk to all the time via WhatsApp? We do too. You can create a shortcut for specific conversations on Android, making it easier to access those chats you need all the time.

My v1.6 shortcut that I built

Allows you to WhatsApp any number without adding them into your contacts

The Workflow is smart so you can customize the country code in the parameter. By default I have set it to 65 which is country code for +65 (Singapore)

If you have a phone number in your clipboard the workflow will give you a choice to use that phone number or enter a new number

You can run it as a widget or add to your home screen as you see fit

The latest version now allows you start WhatsApp chat from the iOS share sheet as well

Auto Message is a powerful shortcut. You can create an individual message, group message, mass message, dictate the auto message, and manage groups with Auto Message. Unfortunately, it is also complicated. However, I feel it is worth the pain.

I have successfully used Proactive Remediation to get rid of the Consumer version of Teams, and was able to successfully remove the Teams Chat icon using a configuration profile. Is there a configuration profile that will help remove the consumer shortcuts?

@Matt Dillon, Thanks for the reply. After researching, I didn't find the configuration profile to remove Spotify,TikTok, WhatsApp, Disney+ shortcut,. But it seems we can use Proactive Remediation feature to do this. Here is a link I find for your reference:

I'm not sure if it's been asked before, or is answered somewhere within the documentation (which I have read, but I've probably missed things), but I wanted to know if it's possible to set up a keyboard shortcut so that it only activates when I'm on a particular web page. If so, how might one go about doing this?

This was the starting point where RNLY showed how to make iOS shortcuts. But since it was in Chinese I was unable to understand fully. Recently the discussion in this post created a new interest to make some shortcuts especially since the telegram bot was not working for me. @88DM88 shared how he used shortcuts to send images (via Imgur) and text to RemNote. With help of tips from @hannesfrank, I was able to use the ![]() syntax to embed the image from the Imgur url into RemNote.

Then I searched for other similar iOS shortcuts in RoutineHub and Reddit. After I lot of mixing and matching, I assembled together a few shortcuts to send images and videos to RemNote as shown here. I had tested these only on telegram. And these were not working when I selected multiple images or videos. So the search continued.

I have also made shortcuts to capture image or video using iPhone camera and send it to RemNote via Dropbox in a similar way. Also a shortcut to send images and video from Discord to RemNote is there. I can share their screenshots if someone needs it (after some more testing from my part). I have to make one shortcut for sending text from discord also (not yet done). I also tried to make one shortcut to send images from Facebook private groups (study groups only) - but its little complicated. So not sharing that.

These iOS shortcuts seem to work with telegram and WhatsApp ( I have tested only those two). Sometime when multiple selections are made in places where connectivity is less, it may show an error. But on repeating, it seemed to be working for me.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps worldwide, allowing users to connect and communicate with friends, family, and colleagues. To make it easier to stay in touch with your favourite contacts, WhatsApp offers a feature that enables you to add chat shortcuts to your home screen on your iOS, Android or PC. In this guide, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of adding WhatsApp chat shortcuts on both platforms.

By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can easily add WhatsApp chat shortcuts to your iOS, Android & PC devices. This feature enhances accessibility, saves time, and allows for a more personalized messaging experience. Enjoy the convenience of quickly accessing your favourite chats with just a tap from your home screen!

WhatsApp is among the most popular online messaging platform out there. It is available on both smartphones and desktops. While some features are exclusive to WhatsApp for Android and iOS, WhatsApp shortcuts are exclusive to the desktop version of the application. Just like there are shortcuts to copy and paste text or images, WhatsApp has shortcuts for performing several tasks, including creating a group, sending a chat to the archive section, and more.

Users can use these shortcuts to decrease the time required to perform the task manually, i.e., with the help of a keyboard and mouse. It might not sound convincing at first, but using keyboard-based shortcuts on a platform where the primary mode of communication is text messages makes sense, especially when WhatsApp is used by professional teams and groups, where every second counts. Given below are the best WhatsApp shortcuts to use.

First, if a user wants to initiate a new chat with someone, tap Ctrl + N and select the contact from the list that appears on the screen. To create a new group, hit Ctrl + Shift + N and choose the participants that will be a part of the group conversation. If the user is chatting with someone and a message pops up in the chat below it, press Ctrl + Tab to scroll to the next chat (in the order of messages in the inbox). If, by mistake, the user happens to scroll past a conversation without replying to the message, use the WhatsApp shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Tab to return to the previous chat. To search for a contact, press Ctrl + Shift + F and type the name in the search box.

Now let's assume the user is in a particular chat and wants to mark the message as unread. Press Ctrl + Shift + U. Similarly, if someone is being pesky on WhatsApp, mute the contact by pressing Ctrl + Shift + M together. If that is not enough, tap Ctrl + Shift + E to send the chat to the archive section. The user will no longer get notifications from this chat. On the flip side, if the conversation is going smoothly and the user wants to keep an eye on the discussion, pinning it by pressing Ctrl + Shift + P would be a great idea. While these shortcuts might be a tad challenging to memorize, they can surely help navigate the application. e24fc04721
