Our simple, beautiful weather chart focuses your child on the environment. Jennifer's watercolor paintings decorate the spinning wheel and the thermometer arrow rotates to set the temperature. Your children will find themselves drawn to nature more often--reaching out the door to feel if it's cold, warm, or hot...looking to the sky for clouds, sun, or rain. Younger children first experience weather through feeling before understanding degrees on the thermometer, which is why we've combined both words and numbers to point the dial towards.

I recently stumbled upon this system for determining weather. and realized this could be something useful for my dark sun games so I decided to make a version more suited to the tablelands. I reckon it could be useful for some of you folks as well.

Would it not be mechanically simpler (and less sadistic) to just make cool weather give some kind of a bonus, and then leave hot as just the no change default state? You could then double water requirements for deadly hot.

FWIW, tried a different route. Created a bunch of custom sensors and then used the custom:bar-card (GitHub - custom-cards/bar-card: Customizable Animated Bar card for Home Assistant Lovelace [available via HACS as well]) and now using this for my weather card - specifically the next 12 hours using the bar-card at the bottom of this image:

Love you man. I like this better than weather card chart and will definitely rip it off top to bottom. Looks like it was a lot of work, well done! Nice that you are also a weatherflow user, I may be able to just copy paste the whole thing

CHART Web is Maryland's official 511 Traveler Information service. Maryland 511 provides travelers with reliable, current traffic and road closure information, as well as weather related traffic events and conditions. MD 511 helps motorists reach their destination in the most safe and efficient manner when traveling in Maryland.

The surface location of the occluded front is directly below the convergence point of the warm air mass, the cold air mass undercutting it, and the cooler air mass already ahead of the warm front. Occluded fronts are usually a sign that the parent weather system has reached its mature stage and is decaying (decreasing in intensity). They are indicated by a purple line with alternating triangles and half-moons on the side of its motion.

NOTE: Some PDF versions of the weather maps can be substantially larger than the Djvu versions. If you are downloading a series of weather maps, you may want to consider downloading the Djvu versions.

The U.S. Signal Office began publishing weather maps as the War Department Maps on Jan. 1, 1871. When the meteorological activities of the Signal Corps were transferred to the newly-created Weather Bureau in 1891, the title of the weather map changed to the Department of Agriculture Weather Map. In 1913, the title became simply Daily Weather Map. In 1969, the Weather Bureau began publishing a weekly compilation of daily maps with the title Daily Weather Maps (Weekly series).

The earliest weather maps featured only a map of the continental U.S. with the day's air temperature, barometric pressure, wind velocity and direction, and a general indication of the weather for various cities around the country plotted directly on the map.

Within a short time the Signal Office added a table showing the change in barometric pressure during the most recent 8 hours, the temperature change within the most recent 24 hours, relative humidity, and total precipitation within the most recent 24 hours. The Signal Office also added a general discussion of synoptic weather features and forecast, and then isobars and isotherms, on the maps. By the end of 1872 the map had acquired the format it would use for the rest of its run.

Solar cycle predictions are used by various agencies and many industry groups. The solar cycle is important for determining the lifetime of satellites in low-Earth orbit, as the drag on the satellites correlates with the solar cycle, especially as represented by F10.7cm. A higher solar maximum decreases satellite life and a lower solar maximum extends satellite life. Also, the prediction gives a rough idea of the frequency of space weather storms of all types, from radio blackouts to geomagnetic storms to radiation storms, so is used by many industries to gauge the expected impact of space weather in the coming years.

In general, areas that experience high atmospheric pressure also experience fair weather. Low pressure systems can cause the formation of clouds and storms. Air usually flows from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure.

A warm front is the transition area where a mass of warm air moves to replace a mass of cold air. On a weather map, a warm front is usually drawn using a solid red line with half circles pointing in the direction of the cold air that will be replaced. Warm fronts usually move from southwest to northeast. A warm front can initially bring some rain, followed by clear skies and warm temperatures.

A cold front is the transition area where a mass of cold air moves in to replace a mass of warm air. On a weather map, a cold front is usually drawn using a solid blue line with triangles pointing in the direction of the warm air that will be replaced. Cold fronts typically move from northwest to southeast. A cold front can bring cold temperatures, torrential rains and high wind speeds.

A stationary front happens when a cold front and a warm front meet up, but neither moves out of the way. On a weather map, a stationary front is usually drawn using alternating cold front and warm front symbols. Stationary fronts bring long rainy periods that stay in one spot.

GOES-16 and other weather satellites are also on the lookout for cold fronts and warm fronts and the weather they produce. Below, you can see the comparison of a cold front on a forecast map and a cold front in a satellite image.

For example, the GOES-R series provides information about atmospheric water vapor and cloud height right now. This can help meteorologists monitor and track severe weather events, such as storms and hurricanes as they happen. JPSS satellites survey the entire planet and continuously provide global atmospheric temperature and water vapor information. This information is needed to create reliable weather forecasts up to seven days in advance!

JPSS and the GOES-R series work together for weather applications. JPSS is critical for getting ready for severe weather events, while GOES-R monitors severe weather as it unfolds for real-time warnings.

Winds blow clockwise around an anticyclone or area of high pressure. These can be found by looking for a big number, like 1020mb in the centre of a loose circle on a weather chart. With descending air (hence high pressure), cloud formation is limited. High pressure in the British summertime often brings fine, warm weather and light winds. Even ridging in the isobars means more settled conditions.

The dartboards of a weather chart are cyclones or areas of low pressure with isobars drawn in tightly packed circles. Here the winds move in an anticlockwise direction, and air is rising. As it rises and cools, water vapour condenses to form clouds and rain. Known to bring unsettled, wet and windy weather, these depressions are aptly named and usually have low numbers around 980mb.

As well as isobars, the other lines to look out for on pressure charts are weather fronts, which represent the boundary between different air masses, and bodies of air with uniform temperature and humidity profiles that bring distinctive weather features to the UK.

The boundary between two air masses is where the interesting weather happens. The concept of weather fronts first appeared in 1919 when Norwegian meteorologist Wilhelm Bjerknes identified that this transition zone was like a battleground between two opposing air masses and termed it a front.

I have a small issue with the OnMove.

I created a chart with the historical temperature (aka line chart in excel ;o). And when I put the cursor on the line, I would like to display some info about the weather for a certain date and when I continue on this line, the panel info follows the cursor. 2351a5e196
