An option is to use the menu system to configure the remote to work with your TV. To my understanding, that will allow the remote to send IR signals rather than communicate via CEC for those functions. Perhaps @Tivoburkee, @atc98092, @makaiguy, or @renojim can correct me. But follow the suggestions of @Tivoburkee and see if that resolves it.

I have two Vizio TVs with Roku players attached, one an Ultra 4670 and one a Premiere 3920. The Premiere came with an IR remote, which has no TV controls. I added a WiFi Direct remote to that player, and for both it and the Ultra I never specifically programmed either remote to control the TV. But in both cases the remotes will control the TV power and volume. So I am assuming it is via CEC. They both worked "out of the box" with no need for me to check any settings in either the Roku or the TV.

I just got ours to work!

I just selected the "add new remote" function and went through the prompts. Then, when that was complete, I did the "program remote" for our ancient Vizio TV.

Worked like a charm on the first try! Give it a shot!

Don't throw away the normal remote just yet. If your Vizio Smart TV needs to be reset, one of the only ways to do this is with the physical remote through a series of key strokes. While there are ways to perform a hard reset using the buttons on the back of the television, it's less than ideal.

I just finished writing a node program and a device handler to connect to my Vizio tv (M65-D0) using -smart-cast. I think it might for you too. Let me know if you are interested, I will share what I have

Sometimes there are just too many remotes to keep track of. You can simplify things by using one remote to control your Samsung TV and soundbar. As long as your soundbar is connected to your TV with either an optical cable or HDMI via ARC, you can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote.

By default, Samsung TV remotes should be able to control Samsung soundbars. If it isn't working, be sure the soundbar is powered on, and then press and hold the WOOFER button up until "ON - TV REMOTE" appears on the display (about 5 seconds). Next, you'll need to choose between connecting with an optical cable or an HDMI cable.

If the remote for your Samsung soundbar gets lost and you need to replace it, you can get a new one at the Samsung Parts website. Just enter the model of your soundbar to find the correct remote.

According to this article, The Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Doorbell (battery) can only stream to Chromecast with Google TV or a smart display screen. A smart display screen would be a device such as the Google Nest Hub. At the moment, it appears that the only Chromecast compatible devices are the Chromecast with Google TV or a TV with Google TV built-in. ff782bc1db
