Sometimes I can go a whole minute between buffering, but it's frequent enough to ruin my movie experience. There is zero other network activity, I have a brand new router capable of blazing speeds and huge range, I've already changed the quality through Videostream from 1080p to 720p, but I refuse to lower myself to 480p. There is no reason a 720p video should be buffering this much. I regularly am able to watch 1080p videos with Videostream and not have them buffer at all, so I don't know why it has to buffer a billion times tonight. The app is up to date, everything is up to date.

Im struggling for a while now but i am unable to find a solution.While streaming video to my Chromecast (Netflix, Disney, Prime) the volume is extremely low. The weird thing is that streaming audio (Spotify) goed well.

McAfee Firewall does not let the "VideoStream" app for chromecast to stream videos. I have to turn off the firewall every time. I tried to change the firewall setting, I checked the list of the allowed program, the "Google chrome" app has full access. When I tried to add the "VideoStream" app to the list of allowed programs, I wasn't able to find the .exe file for it on my HDD (the McAfee only accept .exe files). Please let me know if you have experienced the same problem and have found a way to fix it.

Initially released as a standalone Google Chrome application, it was later released as a browser tab following Google's decision to cease support for the Chrome App Store. While I understand the desire to do this, it seems like a bit of an unnecessary step to do this. Adding another layer of complexity between the file and target streaming device is never ideal. I would personally recommend using something like VLC media player or the built in/default casting options to cast local files to your Chromecast/Chromecast enabled device.

This method of using a Chrome extension (Chrome app) is a compliment to the other 3 methods of streaming local media to Chromecast: Chrome browser tab casting, desktop sharing, and using Plex media server (and a web app).

You need install Google Cast extension as well. We will not cover the installation of Google cast extension because the installation procedure is exactly identical to that of Videostream extension. Actually, almost all Chromecast extension installation procedure is identically simple.

After initial installation, next time, you can launch Videostream for Google cast in three different methods: from Chrome apps page (chrome://apps), using a desktop shortcut for Videostream app, or from bookmarks bar.

The problem could be due to some security settings. You may try to remove the the videostream and Google cast extension, clear the cache (browsing history) in Chrome, apply default settings of Chrome browser. Then try again.
