When I started my business, I built my website on Squarespace. I have been very happy with Squarespace (and still am), so the decision to switch to Showit was not something that seemed obvious. In all honesty, I redesigned my website (and overhauled my brand) on Squarespace just a couple of months before deciding to switch from Squarespace to Showit.

I have an active domain that expires in October, I bought it back in 2020 through Squarespace and its hosted by Tucows. I had a business plan for a year, then I allowed it to expire, and today I repurchased a month of business plan through squarespace to activate my website again (I was told I had to have an active website in order to transfer the domain away from it).

To use the domain with Shopify (instead of Squarespace) you can either transfer the domain away from Squarespace (the process will depend on the top-level domain type) or you can add custom DNS records to connect your Squarespace domain to a Shopify website. To do this, you'll need to know the correct DNS settings for your Shopify site.

Very bottom of the webpage is three step tutorial on how to transfer your .co.uk domain away from Squarespace to another site. -us/articles/115013899008--co-uk-org-uk-and-uk-domains#toc-transferring--co-uk---org-uk--and--uk-domains:~:text=to Squarespace.-,Transferring a domain away from Squarespace,-You can transfer

You can move back, but there is no switch to do it. No option for a template change. You would need to start a new trial with a 7.0 site, build it, activate it, move your domain and then cancel the original site, once you know the new one is working. You will get an immediate credit for time left on your old site. As far as a road map from 7.0 to 7.1, I don't see that happening any time soon if at all. They are two very different platforms that intended or not are for two different kinds of website builders. I personally think that 7.1 is one good template family (inspired by the one page look of 7.0 Brine family) but it is more mobile view driven, with preset designs, not exactly templates, not in the 7.0 sense anyway. It is meant to make it easier for new folks, do it your selfers to build a nice site without a lot of trouble and it fits that bill. I will build on it if it fits my customers needs, but I don't have any sites there yet. One thing that would make me stay with 7.0 is the landing/cover page option which 7.1 does not have.

After completing the steps above, you may receive an email from your new provider (via a @registrarmail.net email address) confirming the transfer is in progress. The email includes a link, which may look like it's only for canceling, that you can use to confirm the transfer.

We purchased google workspace through squarespace where we built our website. We are leaving squarespace but want to keep google. How do I move our google account to google and not having to pay for it through squarespace.

Use our version update tool to update your website from version 7.0 to 7.1 without affecting your data. Site structure and information like SEO, orders, sales, customer data, members, domains, and subscriptions will remain intact. This tool is in beta, which means our team is still developing it.

Gather content from your existing site so you're prepared to add it to your new site. There's no one right way to do this, and it can vary depending on what you're moving over, but organize the content in a way that's convenient and makes sense to you.

After you've prepared your content for the move, you can start creating your new version 7.1 site. You can import products as a .csv file from your version 7.0 site, but other content you'll need to recreate manually. There may be slight differences, but you can replicate most version 7.0 designs in version 7.1.

With Google Docs, Sheets, and Presentations, sharing files for input has never been easier. Edit in real time with teammates and reach your final product even faster. Join a video hangout or chat with a colleague directly from your inbox.

The way to format the .csv file depends on your goal, and the version of the site you're uploading products to. To learn how to format the file based on these factors, visit Importing products from a .csv.

Even though form-submission@squarespace.info and no-reply@squarespace.info are official Squarespace email addresses, the content you receive from these addresses comes from what visitors enter in your form block.

To confirm an email address belongs to us, compare it to the list below of our official email addresses. Keep in mind that it may be possible for scammers to impersonate some of these addresses. If you're unsure, forward the entire email to reportphishing@squarespace.com and include the email header and subject line:

All subscriptions are set to automatically renew, unless you disable auto-renew. This helps avoid service interruptions. Because all Squarespace subscriptions are independent from each other, you need to cancel each one individually.

Select the file you downloaded during the last step and click on Upload file and import. Now you get to assign the posts and pages that you want to import from Squarespace to a new or an existing author in WordPress:

Hi Kinsta Support,

Good day.

I have read a lot of article about squarespace migrated to website and they encountered issues on the images and page layout. The images are missing, a lot of spacing and with duplication of images.

Thank you.

Hello,

I am going to migrate my site from Squarespace to WordPress but I would like to do it without interrupting the activity of my current page. The name of the site should stay the same (URL) so is it possible to set up WordPress site properly without making a Squarespace site under construction? And then switch smoothly to WordPress when WordPress site is ready (keeping the same URL address)? Can I start creating the site in WordPress panel without mapping it to any domain at the beginning?

My squarespace had two link structures. Domainname.com/blog/post-name for my recipes. The older ones also had the date in them. And I also have Domainname.com/tipsadvice/post-title for my lifestyle posts. How do I ensure that none of the links get broken in the move if I can only put one link structure in WP?

My site is image heavy, and it may take a few days for me to follow all the steps. I have my own domain (www.mywebsite.com) which I will be moving over. My concern is that once I start the process, my site will not work until I have it up on WordPress. I would want my domain to go to my squarespace site until I am ready to move over.

Is there a way to import multiple blogs by re-exporting the XML from Squarespace and choosing a different blog each time? Will that put those posts in with the rest of your posts that were uploaded from a previous import to WordPress?

Is there a way to export / import one page from Squarespace (and not the entire website)? I am trying to export just the blog section of an old website and import it to the new website I have created on WordPress? Can anyone advise?

I assume this works with Wix, as well. I actually have already moved my site from cks Wix to WordPress. However, I named the URL for my WordPress site a different name than my Wix site, so I could keep my original site while making the transfer. I now need to make my WordPress site the same URL as the one I was using for my Wix site. How do I do that?

Did you only follow Adobe Portfolio's guidelines: connect domain, edited DNS settings from Squarespace, and then click apply on Adobe Portfolio? Or did you also forward your domain through Squarespace to Adobe Portfolio like shown in the picture attached? And if you did the process in the picture, which URL did you put? Did you put the adobeportfolio.com URL? Thank you in advance, sorry but I'm going crazy.

Squarespace has not provided a way to automate the transfer of content from version 7.0 to 7.1, so most migrations involve simply copying and pasting page and blog post content. Products are an exception to this rule: it is possible to export products to a .csv file and import them to the new website. More on this below, along with some unconventional options for automating parts of the migration using third-party tools.

If you are currently running your eCommerce business from Squarespace, but feel that your business has grown, it might be time to move onto a platform that can meet your current needs. Posted 1 year ago by Jonathan Kennedy

If you are moving your website from Squarespace to Shopify you can easily migrate your existing reviews. Login to Dashboard and go to Reviews (pin 1). In the right corner of the tabs press on the "Migrate Reviews" button (pin 2).

In the second case, the images will be imported from their original URLs, which can be a problem if the original site is deleted. To avoid this, it is advisable to manually download each image from the rich text field and import them to the CMS.

Another element to get before the site migration is a domain name. You can either buy a domain name from a domain registrar or a hosting provider. However, start with a quick domain availability check to make sure your desired domain name can be registered. If not, consider changing a domain name extension, using an alternative name, or buying it from the current owner. 2351a5e196
