"I heard that Williston Golf Club was a short and easy course. When I saw the

scorecard I thought that I would shoot 59. I shot 75. I can't wait to give it

another try. Williston is the toughest little course you'll ever play."

-- Bobby Pollitt, PGA Professional, Jupiter, FL

On average, ENERGY STAR certified buildings use 35 percent less energy and generate 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their peers. Learn more about ENERGY STAR certification.

While cards with no annual fee can lower the cost of using your card, these credit cards will charge interest and could have other types of fees. When you pay your balance on time and in full at each billing statement, you may be able to avoid paying interest on purchases and reduce the cost of using credit.

FICO scores are three-digit numbers that are calculated based on the information from your credit report. Lenders use FICO scores to assess how risky you are as a borrower, and your score can influence whether you're approved for credit such as credit cards, mortgages and car loans. Your FICO score also affects what interest rate you'll be offered.

Using credit responsibly can improve your FICO score. When you want to raise your credit score, it helps to make payments on time, pay your balance in full, and to use a small percentage of your available credit.

Once a scorecard has been developed and implemented, performance management software can be used to get the right performance information to the right people. Automation adds structure and discipline to implementing the Balanced Scorecard system, helps transform disparate corporate data into information and knowledge, and helps communicate performance information. The Balanced Scorecard Institute formally recommends the Spider Impact developed by Spider Strategies and co-marketed by the Institute.

Scorecards display a summary of a single metric. Scorecards are commonly used to visualize key performance indicators or some other variable that measures the relative health or performance of your business or area of activity. For example, a scorecard can summarize total sales, average bounce rate, count of ad impressions, maximum hold time, minimum failure rate, etc.

Scorecards in Looker Studio appear as numbers and, optionally, with the name of the metric being summarized. The format of the displayed number depends on how the metric is configured in your data source.

You can add a sparkline to a scorecard chart to visualize your primary metric's trends over time. For example, in the following scorecard chart, a blue sparkline shows the trend over time for the primary metric, New Users. The sparkline is displayed below both the value for the primary metric and the percentage for the optional comparison metric:

When the Hide comparison label checkbox is not selected, you can edit the label for the comparison. For example, you can add the label "Q4 new users" to a scorecard chart with a primary metric of New Users that compares the number of new users in Q1 to the number of users in a past time period, Q4.

In many states, premature mortality for Black and American Indian/Alaska Native people has historically been much higher than that of other groups, and increased by a larger margin during the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, both groups of people, along with Hispanic Americans, experienced the largest drops in life expectancy between 2019 and 2021.6 To a great extent, this reflects higher age-adjusted rates of COVID-related deaths, particularly among Black, Hispanic, and American Indian/Alaska Native communities, as well as higher mortality from treatable conditions like cardiovascular disease and stroke.7

The 2023 Scorecard on State Health System Performance shows that all states face challenges in ensuring the health and well-being of their residents. How can state and federal legislators and agencies address these challenges and improve health outcomes?

The income disparity indicators are different than those used in previous scorecards; hence, these disparity rankings are not strictly comparable to those published previously. For some indicators, we combined multiple years of data to ensure adequate sample sizes for stratified analysis.

As in 2022, the State Scorecard ranks states based on racial and ethnic health equity. To do this, the report uses updated data metrics and employs the same scoring method used in the Commonwealth Fund November 2021 report, Achieving Racial and Ethnic Equity in U.S. Health Care: A Scorecard of State Performance, to produce summary state health system performance scores for each of four racial and ethnic groups.

Performance Metrics. The 58 metrics selected for this report span health care system performance, representing important dimensions and measurable aspects of care delivery and population health. Where possible, indicators align with those used in previous scorecards. Several indicators used in previous versions of the State Scorecard have been dropped either because all states improved to the point where no meaningful variations existed (for example, measures that assessed hospitals on processes of care) or the data to construct the measures were no longer available (for example, hospitalizations for children with asthma). New indicators have been added to the State Scorecard series over time in response to evolving priorities or data availability (e.g., measures of COVID-19 vaccination status and medical debt).

As in previous scorecards, if historical data were not available for a particular indicator in the baseline period, the current-year data point was used as a substitute, thus ensuring that ranks in each time period were based on the same number of indicators. 2351a5e196
