I have this same problem on my iPad soon after updating to iOS 11.4.1. I am using Messages in iCloud on a MacBook Pro, an iPhone, and my iPad. Only the iPad shows the erroneous badge notifications. I followed the advice above, but when I turned on the Badge App Icon after restarting, the bogus badge notification (2 unread) reappears. My feeling is that this problem has to do with Messages in iCloud not properly syncing SMS texts as my recollection is that this problem may have started after a couple of SMS texts were received on my iPhone. I also had same issue with my MacBook, but that resolved after rebooting Mac OS High Sierra.

The App Store stopped working. It wouldn't download three updates. I did the restart and sign out stuff with no success. Then I uninstalled the three apps. The app icon went from 3 to 2 updated after I deleted the first app. Same thing after the second app. After I deleted the third app the icon still shows 1 app needs an update but none are listed in the App Store. I restartd and signed in and out again. No change. I tried reinstalling the apps from iCloud but they won't reinstall.

TTried this fix with no success. One app, Kindle, actually re-installed but another, Skydrop, only shows up in the store as an app in my iCloud and won't reinstall. I don't have that app on any other apple device. It's deleted from my iPad and I can't get it back.

I have successfully published a model to my Trimble Connect account from my Mac. When I go to Trimble Connect on my iPad Pro the model is there, but shows zero bytes. The model is 53 Mb. I am not getting any error messages at either end and I have a SketchUp Pro account.
