On behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), SEVP manages schools, nonimmigrant students in the F and M visa classifications and their dependents. The Department of State (DoS) manages Exchange Visitor Programs, nonimmigrant exchange visitors in the J visa classification and their dependents. Both SEVP and DoS use the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to track and monitor schools; exchange visitor programs; and F, M and J nonimmigrants while they visit the United States and participate in the U.S. education system.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program that administers the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). It ensures that government agencies have essential data related to nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors to preserve national security. SEVP provides approval and oversight to schools authorized to enroll F and M nonimmigrant students and gives guidance to both schools and students about the requirements for maintaining their status.

SEVIS is a web-based system for maintaining information on nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors in the United States. It is the core technology for the DHS in this critical mission. SEVIS implements Section 641 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, which requires DHS to collect current information from nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors continually during their course of stay in the United States. In addition, the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 (USA PATRIOT Act; Public Law 107-56, amended Section 641) mandated implementation of SEVIS prior to Jan. 1, 2003.

SEVIS tracks and monitors nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors. If accepted by an SEVP-certified school, foreign students may be admitted to the United States with the appropriate F or M nonimmigrant status. If accepted for participation in a Department of State-verified exchange visitor program, exchange visitors may be admitted to the United States with J nonimmigrant status. Records of these nonimmigrant admissions and continued participation in these educational programs are maintained in SEVIS. Further, SEVIS enables SEVP to assure proper reporting and record keeping by schools and exchange visitor programs, thereby ensuring data currency and integrity. SEVIS also provides a mechanism for student and exchange visitor status violators to be identified so that appropriate enforcement is taken (i.e., denial of admission, denial of benefits or removal from the United States).

On Sept. 16, 2011, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton launched the Study in the States Initiative at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A key aspect of this initiative seeks to enhance coordination between the various federal agencies that play a role in implementing our nonimmigrant student visa and exchange visitor programs.

The Study in the States website allows ICE and its partner agencies, as well as DoS, to more effectively communicate information to nonimmigrant students, exchange visitors and their dependents. The site features dynamic and interactive content in a user-friendly manner and uses social media tools, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to provide updates to visitors around the globe.

Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum is Southwest Colorado's premier archaeological museum, housing permanent and temporary exhibits that focus on Ancestral Puebloan, Native American, and historic cultures in the Four Corners region. The BLM-operated Visitor Center provides information and orientation for visitors to Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. Facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Space Center Houston has peak attendance on weekends, holidays and in the summer. We recommend guests arrive as early as possible during these times. We extend hours to accommodate visitors during busy times.

Foreign Students and Exchange Visitors: The United States supports international education and welcomes foreign students and exchange visitors. The Visitor Center is the proud gateway for the one million annual visitors to our distinctive campus. Pursuant to Rule 33-601.723, Florida Administrative Code - Visiting Check-In Procedures: All visitors sixteen years of age or older must present a valid form of picture identification for visiting registration. Acceptable forms of identification are identification cards that contain a photograph, current address, and date of birth and physical characteristics of the individual. Signatures are not required if the identification otherwise complies with all other standards of proper identification.

A visitor seventeen years old or younger who cannot furnish proof of emancipation must be accompanied during a visit by an approved parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult and must remain under the supervision of that adult at all times, to include when the minor is subject to being searched under the provisions of Rule 33-601.726, F.A.C.

How much money can I bring in during my visit?

Up to $50.00, in $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 and $20.00 denominations only or silver change, per visitor, regardless of age, to purchase snacks and beverages from visiting park canteens or vending machines. All snacks and beverages shall be purchased and consumed in the visiting area. A small wallet or pouch may be used for containing the bills and any change received from the canteen or vending purchases.

What else may I bring into the visiting park?

You may bring a vehicle key necessary to operate your vehicle. However, keyless entry devices are not permitted unless the duty warden or designee determines that the device is the only means for the visitor to access the vehicle and it does not pose a threat to institutional security.

A few years ago, we had to make the difficult decision to significantly restrict visitors in our hospitals and clinics to protect our patients and staff due to COVID-19. The Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation operates visitor center locations throughout the city, including the Independence Visitor Center in cooperation with the National Park Service, the LOVE Park Visitor Center and City Hall Visitor Center.

Convenient, onsite parking is available for visitors who start at the Visitor Center. The AutoPark at Independence Mall is a 24-hour, fully enclosed parking garage operated by the Philadelphia Parking Authority. Entrances are located on both 5th and 6th Streets, between Market and Arch Streets.

The purpose of the framework is to provide cohesive guidance for managing visitor use on federally managed lands and waters. The framework is a planning process for visitor use management and can be incorporated into existing agency planning and decision-making processes. It is applicable to virtually all visitor use management situations and conditions on federally managed lands and waters. The framework is applicable across a wide spectrum of situations that vary in spatial extent and complexity from site-specific decisions to large-scale, comprehensive management plans. It also may be used across multiple, tiered planning efforts.

The guidebook concludes with four theoretical case studies to further demonstrate the visitor capacity guidelines in action. The case studies represent a range of examples for identifying and implementing visitor capacity.

In addition to the framework and related guidebooks, three contributed papers on the relationship between the amounts and types of visitor use and environmental, social, and wildlife impacts are available below. These papers were prepared by experts in the field, David N. Cole (Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute), Stewart Allen (Bureau of Land Management), and Jeffrey L.
