Cool symbols are symbols used to create a specific mood or style in design and art. They are often used in visual arts, graphic design and social media to add personality and emotion to a design or message. Cool symbols can include text faces and other symbols used to create a specific look or feel. Some examples of Cool symbols include hearts, stars, flowers, and other decorative elements. Cool symbols can be used in a variety of contexts, including social media posts, website designs, and artwork. They are often used to create a cohesive theme or style within a design.

You can also create Cool faces using ASCII art, which is a technique for creating images using only ASCII characters (letters, numbers, and symbols). ASCII art can be used to create a wide variety of images, including text faces and other symbols. To create ASCII art, you can use a text editor or an ASCII art generator tool to design your image using a grid of ASCII characters. You can then copy and paste the resulting text into your message or post. Keep in mind that the appearance and support of Cool faces may vary depending on the device or application you are using. Some Cool faces may not be supported or may appear differently on different devices.

There are many other cosmetic symbols available and new ones are being added all the time. Cool symbols can be used in a variety of contexts, including social media posts, website designs, and artwork. They are often used to create a cohesive theme or style within a design.

I am trying to add some text to lines similar to the screenshot below from an erosion and sediment control plan. How do I go about changing the symbology of lines to create similar lines as this? Do I need to first create pictures of the text and use a picture as the marker symbol? It would seem like I could include text as the marker somehow.

in my imessage text area I see that red record audio thing on the right, I often accidently hit it - I want that turned off, but i don't see a microphone icon in the bottom keyboard area on my iphone to try to toggle that off...

The red icon for audio message will not disappear in my text messaging. I have no microphone on the bottom right of my keyboard, and going into Settings, General, Keyboards, and turning off Enable Dictation does NOT make it disappear in my iPhone 14 Plus. Nothing is working!!!!! Any other suggestions? Thank you!

I was about to post your exact issue and then (again) tried the microphone button. By turning it on (lower right of screen) and then turning it off via the microphone icon that appeared in the message line, the red audio symbol disappeared. Go figure. Good luck.

Part of the problem is MacOS keyboard behaviour and part might be Obsidian typing behaviour. Obsidian adds the paired closing paren as soon as you type the first one. This triggers the MacOS text replacement even though the cursor is still between the now pair of parentheses.

MacOS settings. Change keyboard > text replacement entries for copyright and registered trademark. Replacing the text replacement using a two character sequence which would never be used for numbering would work well.

However if the auto-completion paradigm were to replace the auto pairing, the standard approach would be to simply close the bracket around the c or r and leave it up to the MacOS settings as to whether to replace the text or not.

In short I think that most developers would be more comfortable with having the same behaviour across all the editors they use, rather than different behaviour, in which case rather do what VSCode etc etc do.

I do agree that the somewhat smaller text of R40 and R41 do look slightly better on the monitor (where you can zoom in a lot) but if printed on paper the 50mil text is already quite small, and I would not want smaller texts on paper.

I stumbled across the 50mils default in the guidelines when looking to edit a symbol that needed attention and became aware of that. Being able to override that globally would be great, looks like KiCad 6 might have some utils in it for that.

I also used to try to cram a whole schematic on a single A4 sheet and eventually realized that it takes a lot of time to make any changes or add small things, and makes the schematic harder to read.

I think this habit grew from reading too many magazines, where schematics get redrawn just to fit in the smallest rectangle possible for printing purposes (Printing 50.000 copies is expensive).

I would agree with @paulvdh here. You need space to make a schematic more readable. If the need for printed A4 sided output is a hard requirement, you can spread your design over multiple pages. Just add another page to the design. i find this often helps you look at the overall design more critically. KiCad supports either multipage or hierarchical schematics.

i recently lost my prefs, and I had to regoogle this. Because here im also controlling other stuff which show symbols and features around my image- and text-frames, I would suggest to put this preference here:

Textsymbols.net helps you to copy and paste text symbols online. It is a free tool to copy text symbols, text emoji on click. It also comes with different categoriesofsymbolsthat helps to find text symbols, and emoji which you want.Choose your types of symbols and Just click on a symbol to copy it to the clipboard & insertitto an input element.

Set UseMnemonic for that label to false. This causes all ampersands within the text to be taken literally so you don't need to double any of them. You'll lose the underlining and access key features though.

Currently we are facing problem to link or relate custom symbol to dimension, so i want to know, is it possible to add custom symbol in text symbol so while adding dimension these symbol also add and get link with dimension (no need to relate object differently). So if it is possible then pls share steps in detail or if not possible then another workaround to link custom symbol and dimension easily.

That doesn't look like an answer to the question about a custom symbol. It does apply to a drawing note. I don't think it is required to designate the parameter as designating is a function for Windchill to see the parameter when it is checked in. If the parameter is not already managed in Windchill it generates an error message, but otherwise succeeds.

When creating a symbol you can add parameter (&parameter_name) as variable value for variable text to call the value of parameter from part. This will call the value of parameter from part in symbol e.g. if parameter in part is material with value as zinc, symbol will call zinc from part parameter.

There's no way to make this point without sounding snarky. I've been trying for 10 minutes already. So I'm just going to go ahead and be honest. With the utmost respect, most PTC Technical Support personnel are not experts in Creo software. At best, they are well-trained technicians who search for your problem in a large database. If they're any good, they might even recall some nuances of the software which make it easier for them to perform the same search later. However, when they hit a wall that says "Creo cannot perform this function", they stop.

There are exceptionally few tech support specialists who understand the software to a depth where they will fight for a solution to your problem. If the mighty database says it can't be done, then it can't be done. Period. My favorite thing about PTC Community is solving the unsolvable. Few things give me as much pleasure as posting an answer to a problem PTC deemed impossible.

Here's what you need to do - utilize rarely used features intended for cabling inside of SYMBOLS to solve your problem. Various people have suggested parameters (drawing parameters, model parameters, etc). Someone else mentioned it might be possible to use multiple pieces of variable text but that this will require changing each piece of text individually. There's actually a better way!

Inside Symbols you can set Parameters. These were intended to support cabling/component parameters but you can "steal" them for your own purposes if you wish. Everyone knows how to use variable text in symbols with the backslash technique like this: \Variable_Text\ but there's an alternative! You can simply use a parameter stored in the symbol. For this example, we're going to steal the DESCRIPTION parameter from the cabling parameter table and repurpose it. You can actually invent your own parameter, too. It's not really necessary to use the cabling parameters but we'll stick with repurposing one of them for this example:

If you don't like the standard &DESCRIPTION parameter, you can skip choosing a parameter from the Edit-->Choose Keywords menu in step 1. You can open the Pro/TABLE and type any parameter you wish into the table. Provide the parameter name in the left column and a default value in the right column. Be sure to use your new parameter with the & format in your note and everything will work perfectly. As an example, here's an example of adding a parameter called "NEW_PARAMETER" to the parameters table:

It seems as though there are a constellation of possibilities with parameters within symbols. I'm not sure any of them will be precisely what you want. I'm not even sure I can detail all of them succinctly without another set of intricate powerpoint slides but I'll try:

I realize this is probably not what you were after - but I was pleasantly surprised at the number of options you can come up with by mixing and matching options. You can also set a drawing parameter and add that to your restricted values list. This allows you to simultaneously reference all of the following:

I do have a question about one of the methods that you stated. When using the "Drawing Parameter (Tools-->Parameters)" I do not see a way to define the dwg parameter in the dwg and then call it from within the symbol. I tried the methods that you and others mentioned and could not get it to work. For example, if I want to call the PDMLink Attribute "Name", &Name does not work. I also tried it with a company defined attribute, and that also did not work. Any incites for me? 152ee80cbc
