I do not have internet at my house. Is it possible for me to buy elden ring on my steam account at work then download it to an external hard drive? Then plug the external into my offline PC and install it?

I have a standalone installer for the game "Osmos", OsmosInstaller_1.6.0.exe that is meant to be run on Windows. I would like to play the game on Ubuntu 20.04 through Steam, but I am not sure how to do it.

I realized that I forgot to force the use of Proton. I was able to run the installer in Steam. The installer then asked if I wanted to run the game and it ran. I am not sure how to run the game again though. I found the installed files in my

I don't need to be online; as most of the games are basically offline (Police quest games, leisure suit larry games and so on); but as I am using the 32 bit version of XP I suspect the current installer won't even run?

I found an old version of Steam, with a mod to allow running it on XP but Steam changed things around again this year (2023), so it does not work anymore... At this point I think it is a lost cause as I have the game folders on my main pc that I can copy; but if the app does not start and authenticate me, I can't set it to offline mode so there is no way to play these games no matter what.

You can apply those settings on the entire winesteam runner by going to Lutris > Manage Runners and then click on Open Runners Folder. I did a quick test just to see if it actually works and I can confirm that it does. As for individual games I have not tried yet.

I bought Broken Sword trilogy for my girlfriend, and made a steam account for her. The problem is that when we tried to instal steam in his pc, it donwloaded, installed and updated smoothly. But after that, when we tried to run the client, it tried to search for another update and crashed saying that there were no internet conection. It's something about her pc cause cause it sais that it can't connect to the net despite of being able to use the browser and download things without a problem.

Steam has an option to "Backup local files" or similar you can use on a game. It saves all the downloaded information for the game in a convenient file you can move around and restore on another computer. However, I believe steam will still demand to connect to the internet before you can play the game for the first time, or possibly at all.

I'm trying to set up the Vive Pro on a computer with no internet connection. I have another machine with access to the internet I can use to move files to this device. I tried downloading the installer on the computer with internet access, and moving it to the machine I intend to use it on but it looks as if you need a network connection to run the installer. Would I be able to just run the installer on the machine with an internet connection, download the files it needs then move those files to the offline machine to complete the setup, or is there another way to set up the Vive Pro on the offline machine?

I ended up trying to run the installer on the machine with an internet connection, but still ran into the "Download failed: Check your network connection and try again" issue I thought was originally caused by the firewall. Is there a way to set up the Vive Pro with out it? An entirely offline installer of sorts?

I think you need to have SteamVR installed beforehand (which needs internet to do). Then you may be able to run it in offline mode. Still probably best to do all this with a proper internet connection to begin with imho.

Offline (backup) installers are automatically generated on our servers after you publish a build to the Master branch. Because these installers are queued up for generation and publishing, there may be a delay of several hours between a build being published on the Master branch and an offline installer appearing in the game library.

Please note that this is only applicable to builds updated post-launch. For the Day-1 launch, we will trigger the generation of offline installers right after receiving a Release Candidate for QA tests; this will ensure the offline installers go live at the same time the Release Candidate is published to the Master branch.

You do not need all the patch* files, as you downloaded the latest version. Had you downloaded an earlier version (i.e. bought GD sooner), those patches would have upgraded the old versions to the next higher ones, without you needing to download a full installer again.

But in theory, as long as the source of your sim is the same, disk or store, you may get away with installing from the DVD, and pointing the installer to the location of folder you copied over from the other machine.

In the first post I pointed out the problems with the Internet. It takes a very long time, even if the installer is fine. It takes much less time to install the application from the DVD and download updates. So I would like to know: where are the update files on the simulator site, so you can download them separately into your archive and use them in case of unforeseen reinstallation of the simulator?

If you download the simulator via steam, its major content is stored in the steam library (common). However it will also store some configuration (as many programs these days) in the Windoes roaming folder (you can ignore this folder for now).

So basically, If you have installed the sim you can simply copy all the contents in the steam library (there it is called MIcrosoft Flight Simulator, copy just this folder, about 190GB) to your desired backup destination. If something went wong, just copy all the stuff back from your backup destination to the steam library.

Note:

This product is the offline version of Mega Man X DiVE. Online features such as Battle Mode, Co-op, Ranking, Guild, and Capsule are not included. Collaboration contents such as characters and stages from other Capcom franchises are not available in the game.

Interms of physical disc. There is a CD key, problem is it lacks disc 1.

I am just wondering if there is a way to use CD Key to download the game installer, or have a offline installer and use the CD Key i own for it.

I also love that Exe files or executable files is more independent from one software. But i do use Steam. So it isnt a problem. Though i rely mostly on GOG. For example, there is the thing with Blizzard who made Warcraft 3 Reforged, and i didnt like how the menys looked. But thankfully since i own original copy of Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne and in the manuals i have original CD keys. So all i had to do was find offline installers from Blizzard online, copy it to external harddrive and have my CD key be saved in textfile. And then i had the superior game. Its one of reasons why physical ownership is great too. Its also the feeling of having the game rather than a license to use it aslong as the software is up.

You'll find a lot more benefit out of having your PC wired instead of using WiFi on the host end, it's also cheaper and easier in most cases to go about it that way than it is to create a dedicated wireless network just for streaming steam games.

That should work fine, I run a similar setup for gaming in bed on my phone. My desktop is wired into my home network and then I have a wireless access point in my bedroom that only gets used for my laptop and phone for streaming steam games and it works really well. Just make sure you're close to your wireless access point while streaming, you'll notice that the image gets noticeably worse as you get further away from it.

Just a question will i only have to use steam link or there is also other option available for ex many rpg titles are not available on steam but on there website is there good way to stream those like steaming/cloning display.

How do we Install mixed reality offline? I believe I saw an installer for it but I cannot find it. Our company just bought 10 Samsung Odyssey headsets, but we work in an air-gapped environment. We can update our computers fine with disks, but the mixed reality thing is a serious pain. Is there a directory I can copy and paste onto these computers? That's how we use steam. Update steam on one computer that's not air-gapped, and copy and paste the whole steam directory and it works great, but unfortunately, I cannot find the mixed reality directory.

We've got the same problem with offline computers at our company too. Downloading and installing the mixed reality features via .cab files works fine, but in the Mixed Reality Portal setup wizard, there are hard blocks which check for internet connectivity. To reproduce this:

In the meantime you could use the unofficial open source Project Holo to install it on your custom setup; the project has created an ISO installer using the official recovery package and added extra driver support.

Next, launch the games that you intend to play offline. This ensures that there aren't any further updates or installation requirements that you need to carry out before you can actually play it. Once you've done that, close the game. ff782bc1db
