I just qualified for the Affordable Connectivity Program discount but I can't see where Spectrum offers the reduced price laptop which is supposed to be included in the program and which i really need, mine is starting to poop out. I'm paying full price right now for my Spectrum internet and the discount will be $30 which is a good deal but wondering if they might offer a promo discount if no laptop deal. I have been a customer for at least 20 years and now retired and living on my savings so everything helps. I'd rather not move to another carrier but T-Mobile internet is cheaper although probably not as good.

After installing the internet service I noticed that my Wifi network name is visible on 1 laptop and my iPhone and I am able to connect. It is not visible on my 3rd device ( a laptop). But all the other Spectrum and non - Spectrum networks are visible except mine.

The Spectrum Next team were targeting a release of Late August/September for the Spectrum Next PCB only and January 2018 for the full, cased version of the Next. I backed both with the intention to take the bare Next PCB and create a Spectrum Laptop around it. There were several delays for the Next Board Only, however in early December it arrived so I can begin making this laptop a reality!

To create a working laptop requires careful consideration of which parts to use. Things like the keyboard and LCD will need to be off the shelf components. Thankfully there are plenty of options here thanks to places like Ebay and Amazon.

The size requirement would mean the PS/2 keyboards tested were out of the question leaving only a single USB keyboard, that could be removed from it's casing and used in the new laptop. I had to wait until I received my Next board to test whether this USB keyboard would work via a PS/2 adaptor and, thankfully, it does.

Some other boards needed are the LCD driver board, Raspberry Pi Zero and USB Hub. The hub gives us access to 3 USB sockets accessible on the right-hand side of the laptop for external joysticks, game controllers and any other USB device that may work on the Spectrum Next!

Due to changes to the Spectrum Next firmware the 8" LCD screen is no longer displaying a reliable image. It seems the HDMI timings were tweaked in order to satisfy big screen TV's however these adjustments have affected a lot of small LCD panels. I am looking at other screens and will update the laptop in the future. I will also be looking into making a handheld Spectrum Next too!

Laptops and ps5 have different interfaces. A cable may work for ps5 may not work with your laptops ability to process the same level of signal. Try a different cable and see if it works. I suggest using one that works on the laptop first on another monitor

this morning my spectrum modem stopped issuing an ip address to my netgear wifi router. netgear router worked great yesterday as it has since purchase. I was able to attach my laptop directly to the modem and get an ip address. That is how i'm typing this message. Went to store and purchased a netgear ac1000 and have same problem. spectrum says it is netgears problem since my laptop will connect.

Support had me go to setup and "spoof" the mac address of the netgear router to be the same as my laptop. Then power off both the modem and the netgear router. Power on the modem. Let it boot up completely, about 2 minutes. Then power on the netgear router. After the minute or more boot up the modem then issued an ip address to the netgear router.

As you see, your laptop emits several different kinds of radiation. But all of the radiation emitted by your laptop is too low-frequency and too low-intensity to be harmful to humans. Also, many of these types of radiation emission are not unique to laptops. Here are some concepts you should be aware of:

Since the 2017 launch of Spectrum Digital Education, Charter has awarded 261 grants to 143 unique partners. As of September 2023, the program has helped to fund more than 30,000 digital education classes, distribute over 13,000 devices including laptops and support the creation of 157 tech labs.

Admittedly, we did not delude ourselves that we could build a laptop that would be faster, smaller, or cheaper than those of Apple, Dell, or HP. However, we did set out to build a machine powerful and convenient enough to use every day. Fortunately, our dream inspired enough people to crowdfund the effort. Our laptop, which we call Novena, started shipping to backers in January 2015.

But that arrangement, we hope, is merely a stopgap. The user community behind Novena is trying to create, through reverse engineering, open-source drivers that would allow the built-in GPU on the i.MX6 chip to render graphics directly. At the moment, we have drivers that can accelerate the drawing of 2-D figures on the screen, which makes scrolling and window dragging much smoother. We hope eventually to figure out enough of the GPU to let us do 3-D graphics with acceleration sufficient to produce a user experience much like that of any mainstream laptop.

Cooler heads eventually prevailed. We instead optimized the FPGA for data acquisition by adding a bank of local high-speed DDR3 RAM chips, a form of high-speed dynamic access memory. This upgrade allowed developers to implement a variety of expansion cards, including one for software-defined radio and another that worked as a digital sampler, which could allow engineers to use our laptop as a portable oscilloscope.

The Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) is proud to announce that it has received a donation of laptops from Charter Spectrum to promote the availability of expanded broadband access and Spectrum Internet Assist. The laptops will be given to older adults through a campaign beginning 8AM on February 3, 2020.

The email problem of "sending" mail from your charter/spectrum email when attempting to use mail or outlook on a Mac laptop is not new and has been that way for at least 5 almost 7 years now. Charter.net email is usable on iPhones and iPads but not laptops. It changed back when Charter had a major overhaul of their protocols when switching the email settings from POP to IMAP. They have never been able to fix the issue and obviously still have not - nor do they want to because honestly they do not even want to me in the "email" business as they have stated to me as a long time charter / spectrum customer. The statement was email usage is a bonus/service they provide as an extra feature to their to their customers who pay for internet (ISP) service. If you happen to have a POP account (instead of IMAP) or you can convert to POP account - than you will be able to use both mail and outlook on your Mac...one possible solution - could be to set up a free POP account @outlook.com and have the @charter.net account to forward automatically to this new account and then send from it. Remember the fault is in only the outgoing mail server portion not incoming. - You should still be able to receive mail on your charter.net - just not be able to send.

Transform your laptop into a spectrum analyzer with the new PC SignalHawk from Bird Technologies Group. Over a simple USB connection, your laptop has access to a host of spectrum analysis tools all for a fraction of the price of a desktop spectrum analyzer.

Are you overloaded with expensive field test equipment? The PC SignalHawk is an ideal solution for field techs that already carry a laptop with them as standard equipment. It measures intended and interfering signals, allows setup of parameters such as frequency and amplitude markers, displays signal amplitude vs. frequency and saves traces on your laptop PC.

This rugged field instrument is drop-tested according to military specifications as is designed to be CE Compliant. Included with the PC SignalHawk is a Windows software application that moves the display and user interface to your laptop PC.

DISH makes it easy for customers to watch live and recorded TV on smartphones, tablets, Kindles, computers, and laptops with its DISH Anywhere app. As long as you have a connected Sling Adapter and a Wi-Fi or 3G/4G connection, you can watch live sporting events, news, popular shows, and on-demand titles.

Another possible cause for Spectrum WiFi not showing up on your laptop could be an issue with the wireless network itself. This could be due to interference from other electronic devices, such as cordless phones or microwave ovens, which can disrupt the WiFi signal.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try moving your laptop closer to the WiFi router or eliminating any potential sources of interference. You can also try resetting the WiFi router to see if that resolves the issue.

Interference from neighboring Wi-Fi networks or other electronic devices can cause your Spectrum Wi-Fi network to not appear on your laptop. Troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity issues may help resolve the problem.

On my laptop computer, I am suddenly unable to display the spectrum.net web page which I use for viewing email. The address box display but all I get is a blank page with the circle going 'round and 'round. I updated Firefox to version 86.0.1 but am still having the same problem. Microsoft Edge is able to access the website. Firefox works on every other website I have tried. I have no problem accessing the website on my desktop computer. Any idea what could be causing this problem? I really prefer using Firefox.

The result is about as good a Spectrum laptop as it might be possible to create, and certainly as good as what might have been made by Sinclair or Amstrad had somehow the 8-bit micro survived into an alternative fantasy version of the 1990s with market conditions to put it into the form factor of a high-end compact laptop. The case design would do any home-made laptop design proud as a basis, we can only urge him to consider releasing some files. 2351a5e196
