Songs and Stories is a music series that I've been performing throughout New England since just before COVID. While all my life, I've performed my own original songs, I've also been a huge fan of music and been an avid reader and listener of so many of my musical heroes. Songs and Stories is a 60 or 90 minute performance that blends songs by the artists and stories about their upbringing and impact on music.

So I was re watching the monster high movies with a friend and I remembered someone said all the monster high songs were based off real life songs, me and said friend were trying to figure out what songs were what but we had no luck. Does anyone know what any of the songs are based off of?

PRS For Music took the top 30 towns and cities throughout the UK by population (excluding London) and compiled its findings after using its extensive database which contains more than ten million songs.

We only have one home here in America. We were welcomed to New York in 2012 and like so many others were greeted with open arms and warmth. To celebrate the city has given so much to us, we asked its residents and admirers to name the songs that represent it best. Songs from lifelong citizens, fresh-faced newcomers, and outsiders looking in; songs that pay tribute, capture its essence, and reveal its imperfections.

A group show conceived as a mixtape of songs gifted to a lover, Love Songs features photographic projects about love and intimacy from 16 contemporary photographers, including Nobuyoshi Araki, Ergin avuolu, Motoyuki Daifu, Fouad Elkoury, Aikaterini Gegisian, Nan Goldin, Ren Groebli, Herv Guibert, Sheree Hovsepian, Clifford Prince King, Leigh Ledare, Lin Zhipeng (No. 223), Sally Mann, RongRong&inri, Collier Schorr, and Karla Hiraldo Voleau.

We are a mixed SATB choir - that means we sing in four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, and you can sing in whichever one you feel fits your voice best! These pieces may be light-hearted pop arrangements, songs from Disney films, or classical works, and anything in between.

We have an open admissions policy - this means no auditions. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome at our rehearsals. And while experience is greatly appreciated, everyone's contribution is welcome. If you like arranging music, want to accompany us on the piano, or have a go at conducting, we will be happy to help you give it a shot!

Rap as a genre began at block parties in New York City in the early 1970s, when DJs began isolating the percussion breaks of funk, soul, and disco songs and extending them. MCs tasked with introducing the DJs and keeping the crowd energized would talk between songs, joking and generally interacting with the audience. Over time, it became common for the MCs (or rappers, as they soon became known) to talk and rhyme over and in sync with the music. Initially dismissed as a fad, rap music proved its commercial viability in 1979 with the release of The Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," and then again in 1980 with Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks," a Top 5 hit that eventually went gold. 17dc91bb1f
