Let me try to solve our problem another way - Can anyone advise a Ryzen processor which supports Windows 7 !

Note - I know that one can install Win 7 on many of Ryzen CPUs, but I am asking for a Ryzen (5) CPU which supports a

discrete card installation under Win 7 and after its Win 7 drivers installation, show that graphics card in device manager!

That will be a big help. I believe that some of older Ryzen driver supports Win 7 .

If You know one PLEASE HELP US ALL.

I have Ubuntu 20.04 server as my host machine and QEMU-KVM v6.0.0 as hypervisor. I created simple virtual machine configuration using SATA storage and successfully installed Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. After this all manuals suggest to add temporary virtio disk, get Windows 7 to install necessary drivers and then switch to new disk type.

Nothing worked at all. Windows 7 successfully identifies driver files as being signed by Red Hat Inc., however it refuses to load drivers because it is unable to verify digital signature until any trusted root certificates.

I might be missing something, since even this post on this site suggest to install drivers for Windows 10 from the same location and Windows 7 and Windows 10 are no different in regard with driver signatures.

There are signed and unsigned drivers available on fedorapeople.org. It is possible to install signed drivers only. However, there is a small issue. Several root certificates, included in Windows installer expired recently. Because of this Windows 7 installer is not able to verify latest releases of drivers, since corresponding root certificate is only available after update.

At this moment, the latest version of virtio drivers (204-1) isn't recognized by Windows 7 as signed during installation, and therefore can't be used. (The answer by Paul Vetrov has an explanation for it, although I'm not qualified to say if it's correct.) However, earlier versions are recognized and do work! For example, I was able to use versions 160-1 and 173-9. Version 185-1 (the next one after 173-9) didn't work, and I assume that all versions between 185-1 and 204-1 don't work, too.

NOTE: This driver is not intended for use on AMD Radeon products running in Apple Boot Camp platforms. Users of these platforms should contact their system manufacturer for driver support. When installing AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.6.1 for the Windows operating system, the user must be logged on as Administrator, or have Administrator rights to complete the installation of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.6.1.

Turns out that the application doesn't have a 64-bit ODBC driver to access its internal data and can't use a 64-bit SQL Server ODBC driver to export its data to SQL server. It does include and install a 32-bit ODBC driver, but it installs it as a User Data Source, not a System Data Source, meaning that my windows service that runs the live collection isn't able to find it. I'm also not able to create a System DSN since the Data Sources admin console can't find the installed driver.

I ended up creating the ODBC connection directly under HKLM\Software\ODBC. I looked in the SysWOW6432 key to find the parameters that were set up using the 32-bit version of the ODBC administration tool and recreated this in the standard location. I didn't add an entry for the driver, however, as that was not installed by the standard installer for the app either.

Turns out, there are two ODBC Data Source Managers, one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit. So I had to run the 32 bit version which is found in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. Inside the ODBC Data Source Manager, I was able to go to the System DSN tab and Add my driver to the list using the Add button. (You can check the Drivers tab to see a list of the drivers you can add, if your driver isn't in this list then you may need to install it).

If the Query printer option is checked it will automatically use the class driver, if you want to use the GPD, install it from Xerox.com and cancel the wizard, then when you get to here on the manual installation you can browse to C:/Xerox after this screen

I confirmed the PCL and PS driver won't install in Win 10 Pro with the latest insider Preview, so it looks like this printers time has come for the workaround. It may be possible to load the PS driver if you disable driver signature enforcement.

I'm using a WorkCentre Pro 128. It works great, but I've just upgraded to Windows 10 x64 and I can't find appropriate drivers for it.

I'm able to get basic print capabilities when I install the WorkCentre Pro 165/175 class driver, but it prints roughly 3 times slower compared to the correct driver when on Windows 7. I install the drivers by going to "add printer" in Windows, then browsing by manufacturer. 165/175 was the closest version number I could find compared to what I have.

I have tried using the PCL 6 driver for the WorkCentre Pro 128 listed under Win7 x64 on your website, however when I attempt to install it Windows gives me this error: "the hash for the file is not present".

For most of these operating systems two types of driver are available: Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers and direct (D2XX) drivers. The VCP driver emulates a standard PC serial port such that the USB device may be communicated with as a standard RS232 device. The D2XX driver allows direct access to a USB device via a DLL interface.

To locate the drivers you want to install for a device, select which of the driver types you wish to use (VCP or D2XX) and then locate the appropriate operating systems. With the exception of Windows 98 and Windows ME, all devices are supported in each driver package.

This made a change, and I was then able to download the drivers from the manufacturer and install the printer again. (The driver didn't show up in "Windows Update," which froze, but I successfully downloaded it through Google Chrome and ran the installer/setup wizard with no trouble.)

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.Locate the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw printer.Right-click on it and select "Remove device".Download the latest printer driver from HP's website.Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.Run the Windows Printer Troubleshooter:

Go to Control Panel > Troubleshooting.Under "Hardware and Sound", click on "Use a printer".Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter. If the problem persists after trying these steps, it might be helpful to contact HP customer support for further assistance. They may have more specific troubleshooting steps or driver updates that can resolve the issue.

Be default, Windows 7 automatically installs drivers for the devices that are connected to the computer. However, if you do not want Windows 7 to automatically install the drivers, you can use one of the methods listed in this article.

I am trying to connect a new Arduino NANO ESP32 to my windows 7 PC.

Installed the board ok but when I plug in the USB cable windows installs some driver but cannot find TinyUSB CDC so I don't get a COM port so I can program the device.

Searched the web but cannot find the driver.

Any help?

Here it is Dec 2, 2023 and I am having the same issue. I have a Windows 11 pc that connects just fine to the NANO ESP32, but my Windows 7 pc does not. I am getting Nano ESP32 DFU and TinyUSB CDC (Interface 1) as my two usb devices in Device Manager, but no com ports show up. I have tried installing CH340 drivers, but the nano is not enumerated as a comport. With Windows 11 it worked as soon as I installed the from the board manager. I cannot find any way to make this work in Windows 7. Maybe the drivers are not compatible, but Arduino has not issued any statement about this so far. As mentioned by the OP, searching the web does no good. I do wish that Arduino would give us something to go on here.

Well, I have finally decided to call it quits and just use Windows 10/11 when programming this chip. I have been in an on-going conversation with Arduino's tech support and was told that the Nano ESP32 SHOULD work with Windows 7, but they cannot guarantee that it WILL work with Windows 7. Their recommendation was to completely uninstall the IDE and then remove all folders related to the IDE, and then to re-install everything. After doing that three times I still don't get a com port. Their Win-7 rig is evidently different than mine (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit w/ service pack 1). Since I have a few Windows 10 and 11 pc's on hand I see no reason to keep on chasing my tail on this endeavor. A visit to the Espressif website showed me that their ESP-IDF does not support Windows 7, so it wouldn't be a shock to find that their newest drivers don't either. Still, it would be interesting to know what kind of setup the Arduino folks used to get this board working on Windows 7.

OK...I finally found the answer. It probably isn't going to help anybody, but here it is. The NANO ESP32 uses a Ublox W-106 chip which according to their website uses an FTDI USB chip. The FTDI drivers didn't help, so I looked at the FTDI resources page and found a program called Microsoft UsbView which I downloaded. Running UsbView showed me that the Nano ESP32 was indeed assigned as a USB device which verifies that Windows sees it. However, the USB-3 port on my machine is running at High Speed while the Ublox requires Full Speed. Microsoft reportedly killed off the full speed USB-3 driver a few years ago, so my computer will likely never be able to use the Nano. I have a Windows 10 pc that works just fine for the Nano, but I really wanted to use Windows 7.

The CP210x USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers are required for device operation as a Virtual COM Port to facilitate host communication with CP210x products. These devices can also interface to a host using the direct access driver.

The CP210x Manufacturing DLL and Runtime DLL have been updated and must be used with v 6.0 and later of the CP210x Windows VCP Driver. Application Note Software downloads affected are AN144SW.zip, AN205SW.zip and AN223SW.zip. If you are using a 5.x driver and need support you can download Legacy OS Software. ff782bc1db
