Over its lifecycle, The Sims 4 has grown incredibly. Some worlds are small, while others are much larger. Regardless of size, each one includes its own aesthetic and focus. As new game packs and expansions have been released, the number of worlds has increased, and many players are grateful for the fact that most can be traveled to easily by using the map.

This new way of doing things gives your Sims more flexibility than ever before. However, there are also some worlds that are only accessible via vacationing or traveling through a portal. This can affect how useful or enjoyable they are. Here is our list of all the worlds in The Sims 4, ranked.

It also suffers from base game blandness, making it less vibrant and rich than some newer worlds. While we love having a blank world we'd like to see a new one, with a brand-new vibe and more life in the background.

These extra additions make the town more dynamic than some worlds, and the location is beautiful. However, some of the features of this world didn't pan out as hoped which knocks it down below another smaller worlds with adventures that don't bug out on you.

This world is another small space, with just five lots in total. You'll find a small starter home, a larger residential lot, a library, an empty lot, and of course the obligatory bar. However, Moonwood Mill contains a number of unique features, hidden areas, and secrets that bump it up ahead of the other small worlds. All the lots are also well-designed and intriguing.

Willow Creek is a base game world and home to Sims franchise staples The Goths. With 21 lots it's one of the biggest worlds in the game, pushing it up the list. It also has a number of pre-built houses as well as a library, museum, nightclub, park, and gym.

While the world itself feels friendly and includes quite a lot of life, it is simply one of the more boring additions, mostly due to being base game. We'd love to see it given some of the polish later worlds have benefited from.

San Sequoia is a beautiful 12-lot world that comes with Growing Together. While it offers some nice views, and opportunies for walking, it lacks the uniqueness of some of the other worlds. It also has fewer interesting explorable areas than many other expansion pack worlds released just prior.

Brindleton Bay is one of the most beautiful locations in the game. The 16-lot coastal town includes a park, vet clinic, bar, lounge, and museum, as well as several houses. The feel is very rustic and more spread out and open than most worlds.

Updated on December 6, 2023, by Elara Leclair: With each expansion pack and many game packs in The Sims 4, the available options for worlds continue to increase, providing players with a diverse range of environments to settle their Sims in. The latest expansion pack, "For Rent," not only expands the number of worlds but also introduces the ability for players to create rentals and apartments in any world, not just specific ones like San Myshuno or Evergreen Harbor. This feature enhances the utility of each world, allowing players to choose a location based on its unique charm or features rather than being constrained by lot size requirements. With the addition of Tomarang in this expansion pack, the total number of available worlds now reaches 25. This extensive selection ensures that every Sim can find a place they can call home, offering a variety of environments ranging from lush and green outskirts to the bustling life of a city, and experiencing new cultures. Each world provides different and unique activities, adding to the overall richness of the gameplay experience.

While looking similar to Willow Creek, players can make it whatever style they want. The lots are big as well, meaning mansions can be built here. The variety is nice, and the different areas of the world are beautiful. It can feel a bit overwhelming to start from scratch, however. Hopefully, The Sims team will release more empty worlds in the future for creative Simmers to fill with their own builds.

San Sequoia, the newest world in The Sims 4, is reminiscent of San Francisco in terms of its name and landscape. However, players may be disappointed with its small size, consisting of only 12 lots despite being an expansion pack. Despite this, the world is beautifully designed with contributions from Sims content creators like lilsimsie, and the pack brings a great variety of Build/Buy items, resulting in a diverse range of lot designs.

While San Sequoia does not have any unique activities, it offers a few family-friendly locations such as a recreational center and splash pads. However, these features are not exclusive to this world and can be placed in other worlds as well. The world also includes a Cinema rabbit hole and the ability to do Power Walks. Unfortunately, San Sequoia lacks any world-unique features or secrets, making it fall short compared to other worlds. Nonetheless, it is still a great world to explore and integrate into other packs for realistic family gameplay.

However, in terms of size, Henford-on-Bagley is a bit of a disappointment. It's the same size as Del Sol Valley, with only 12 lots available. For a small British countryside town, this does work to a degree, but with worlds, more is always better.

Lately I decided to play an Italian family but the immersion went away when my teenager went to school and her classmates all came from different climates and even continents. I went and replaced the premades with my own sims. It was a slow process. I don't have the energy to do that every time I play in a different setting, and even then my sims are constantly getting invited to community lots halfway across the world.

Where in the real world would you say The Sims 4 worlds are based on or are similar to? I want to do an updated travel challenge for my legacy family (I did one at generation 5 when there were considerably fewer packs released) and this time I want to set it up as my sim is travelling to real life places, i.e. Italy, France, etc.

I have duplicate worlds for Sulani, Tartosa, Windenburg and Henford on Bagley that all function as their own worlds seperate from each other. I don't really play with those worlds much so by the time I realised I just ignored it. Being not very tech savvy I realise now that my game was probably corrupted from that point.

My big issue now is I have sim families that I have created disappearing. They just disappear from the game completely- house still sitting there furnished. They are not visible in manage households or in relationship panels. I realised as well some families are losing sims from their family in the same way- gone from relationship panel. This latest issue seems to have been since the newest update. It is really disheartening and makes the game totally unplayable. I've saved all my families to the library but what are my options? Do I unistall and start over?

All save games have all worlds active at all times. Worlds are not self-contained; all Sims from Oasis Springs can interact with those in Willow Creek and vice versa at any time. Sims can travel freely between the worlds, and can move to different worlds if they wish as well. Entire save games are independent and self-contained.

A lot's category affects how other Sims will act when they show up, or whether a playable Sim can live there. It's possible to tear down all your lots and leave your worlds with nothing but residential lots, though it'll make it difficult to meet new Sims in any central location.

Wow! Yesterday I published this summarized listof The Sims 4 worlds (in addition of individual pages for each world published since few months ago) and already someone is commenting! I am curious how The Sims 5 will look like, but probably we need to wait few more years for it.

Since there are currently 22 worlds available in The Sims 4, with each one offering its own unique design, residents, and weather system, there is an array of options to choose from (although it's likely that a player will want one that is the most spooky).

Part of the Realm of Magic game pack, Glimmerbrook offers two worlds in one - a woodland village rife with witchcraft and wizardry, and a "The Magic Realm," accessible through a secret portal in the town. The realm contains a floating rock in space with a few extra lots for spellcasters to train and duel one another.

If it were down to sheer spectacle, Glimmerbrook may have stood out among the rest. The dual worlds and mystical-medieval aesthetics are unmatched by anything else in The Sims 4. However, the poorly designed lots are quite the eyesore and the often short-lived gameplay of an occult game pack means that players will likely not revisit the world very much after playing through Realm of Magic once or twice.

The world perfectly encapsulates quaint countryside villages that soothe the soul of those who enjoy the rural way of living. While certainly one of the most beautiful, the argument could be made, however, that there are many wooded, western-inspired worlds in The Sims 4.

Inspired by Greek coastal towns, the world is designed as an escapist wedding destination in the Wedding Stories game pack. The world has a mix of residential lots with their own secluded ocean views and community lots designed to be used as wedding venues.
