I wanted to ask- if I have the original sims 3 disc installed on my computer that I use to play, can I download the expansion packs that I DON'T have from the origin store? Will they be compatible with the disc version that I have on my computer? Or will I need to purchase the online sims 3 base game in order to buy new expansion packs online?
Hi Cindy, this might be helpful to folks in the UK. I had the original base game CD but was able to get all the expansion and stuff packs from a company called CEX which sells second hand electronics, CD, DVD Games etc. I had a look in person in a few of the shops to get a good number of the packs and then was able to get the remainder online:

In 2014, The Sims 4 was released for purchase and in 2022, the base game was released for free download. There are 13 expansion packs, with the latest being Growing Together, and 12 game packs (add-ons you can purchase for more gameplay).
There are also additional add-ons called Stuff Packs and Kits. Unlike the expansion and game packs, these additions offer new build items and Create a Sim (CAS) items rather than new gameplay functions.
