I would like to check if there is possibility to put Shutdown and Restart icons to Favourites and on Desktop in Ubuntu. When I search in available applications there are black icons Restart and Shutdown. All nice, when I click on those it shows confirmation for Restart/Shutdown. However when I try to add them to Favourites by right clicking (as works for other applications), there is no such option.

PS. I somewhat recreated this behaviour with custom one-click "brute" icons. See below, but those just shutdown/restart without any confirmation (and warning that for example there is unsaved text file):

If you are looking for an even faster way to shut down without having to click on an icon, press fn + control + alt/option+ command/apple + eject button to have it immediately shut down without any prompt.

I have done OS layer for Windows 2019 and when I have done to create Platform Layer after double-click the Shutdown for Finalize icon on the desktop and back to Tasks about Action Required Status that I found error to show message about An error occurred while finalizing version 1.0 of Layer 'Windows-2019-x64-test' on Packaging Machine 'Windows-2019-x64-test-2020-02-11'. Please address this issue and retry: An unexpected system error occurred. Retry the operation or contact techincal support.

The title says it all. The leftmost column just to the left of K Application Menu now only shows Firefox, Configure Desktop and Logout icons. How do I get Shutdown and Restart icons back? They used to be above Logout icon.

To add an icon to your new Shutdown button, right-click the shortcut and select Properties. Then press the Change Icon button on the Shortcut tab to bring up the window shown directly below. This seems to be a bug, as the interface status is SHUTDOWN not DOWN in the interface table, why can't the shutdown icon (red X) that is used in Node Details for example be used. One day, when I wanted to turn off my Windows 10 laptop from the logon screen without logging into system, but I could not find the shutdown button on the logon screen. I agree too. It is smaller, but the biggest issue for me is the positioning, why would you move the login box to the bottom of the screen instead of a more prominent position (which is where is was before)?! And hide the sleep, shutdown etc buttons?! It's a totally inaccessible design.

Thank you, yes I finally found it. It is small, obscure, and nearly impossible to find. Previous releases, it was right there... My visually impaired wife will certainly never find the shutdown button.

Enter the following based on your desired shortcut

Shutdown: shutdown -s -t 0

Restart: shutdown -r -t 0

Logoff: shutdown -l -t 0

Hibernate: rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState Hibernate

Now the Setup for this shortcut is completed, and the shortcut is created on your desktop. When you double-click on this icon, it will launch Slide to Shut down your PC, then you can click and drag the window down, or also you can press Enter key to shut down your PC.

OK, I did a fresh install and found something that I had missed. Namely that the shutdown options were also non functional in the lightdm boot screen, so it appears that the problem is more likely in the autoboot install of lightdm. Just to verify what is happening I did another fresh install but installed mate desktop using the dietpi-software option. Then did the dietpi-autoboot 16 thing. Rebooted and the shutdown options worked just fine in both the lightdm boot screen and in mate. So I uninstalled the mate desktop using dietpi-software. Then I installed cinnimon-core and the shutdown options are now working in both the lightdm boot screen and in cinnamon. So it would appear that something is missing when you do the dietpi-autoboot 16 command before installing cinnmon-core. Oh well, I got the desktop I wanted up and running even if it did take a few strange steps to get it working.

Those are present here without an X11 reinstall, when trying with minimal/core install. Also, the cinnamon-core package install does not replace/uninstall anything of the previous X11 install, so the reinstall should be a no-op doing exactly nothing. Tested again with cinnamon-desktop-environment which has the same result. Those shutdown options are generally provided by the upower package. While this is not installed with X11, it is a dependency of cinnamon-core

Newbie Z6 owner here, I checked the user manual but couldn't find anything on this. When I'm done mowing for the day (I've cut the lawn twice so far, lol), I park the mower in my garage in such a way that I need to push it into its designated place (pic below). However, after shutting everything down, the little "gear" icon on the LCD panel keeps flashing for about 5 minutes and as long as its flashing the mower cannot be pushed and will not move. Once it stops flashing, I can freely push the mower around.

This seems to be a safety feature, to prevent the mower from rolling when unattended. I don't get any flashing icon or button after taking out the key; the LCD is off, and the "Set Button" (with gears) is lit blue.

If you wish to shut down your windows loaded computer, you need to press start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off. This 3 step process can easily be replaced by a desktop shortcut icon that shuts down your computer in one click.
