After updating to iOS 13.1.2 the phone randomly shows that it is in airplane mode despite being connected to Cellular and WiFi. Sometimes it shows the full status (signal strength, WiFi mode and carrier) when I open a browser, or use the phone to call. I still have not detected a pattern. I have shutdown the iPhone and restarted it several times and the problem keeps recurring.

i just want to make sure i understand. taking a cruise in europe next week. i signed up for the ship's WiFi package. So if I put my AT&T iPhone6 on Airplane Mode, the Cellular tab shows "airplane mode" and the data selections are not available- all good. will I be able to make and receive phone calls on that phone as long as it is in Airplane Mode and is connected to the ship's WiFi network?

Well, this is not true! Two months ago before we left dor Philippines, we were told by an ATT staff that we can turn on wifi calling assist and on airplane mode all the time and hook to a wifi with no charge. So we did exactly as what we were told to do. Of course, we used it there as if we were in the US calling and texting some friends, and taking care of some business. After two weeks, we received a text message and an email saying we've reached our limit and owed $200 and we had to call a toll number if we had questions. We called the toll free number and told the lady about what happened and what exactly we did. She said to turn off wifi call assist and keep on airplane mode, and we did it and continued taking care of business on the phone. We received another text and email that we owed $400 then another $200 which is a total of $800. We just came back from overseas and we have to deal this issue with AT&T. We're not going to pay it because we were told that there's no charge and our phone was always on airplane mode before we left.

I am currently dealing with the same issue. My son is on a cruise with my sister and his phone has been in airplane mode since before the ship left. I got a email saying he has reached his limits and the bill was over $300. I used WhatsApp to text my sister and she sent me pics of his phone in airplane mode and all cellular data and cellular data roaming is off. So of course I added the cruise package before talking to her and now I'm trying to understand how I was charged if everything was off. Also my son was sleep because he wasn't feeling well after the ship pulled off. My sister called prior to the trip as she a also has at&t and was told the same to just put the phone in airplane mode. She has not been charged anything that she knows of at the moment. Something is wrong and this issue needs to be researched! People are being charged fees when doing what AT&T staff had instructed them to do. My son was not connected to WiFi and his WiFi option was turned off as it is automatically when airplane mode is turned on. Therefore WiFi assist should not be an excuse for the fees. All staff is not giving the same information to customers. I just spoke with 2 different agents when calling the international number and asked how to I keep him from going over the data now that I added the package. One said just turn off cellular data and roaming and the other said turn off WiFi assist. No one mentioned anything about WiFi calling should have been added prior to him leaving even when my sister called for her line. She has been trying to figure out why her WiFi calling is not working. This is just terrible customer service.

The airplane mode is showing as turned on in the action center after I boot my PC. However, both WiFi connection and Bluetooth are working normally and show as turned on. They are shown as off when, for example, I turn off WiFi or Bluetooth individually.

But a new study shows it's not just the tray table or seat-back pocket that could be harboring germs and bacteria. The tap water on both major and regional U.S. carriers was found to be contaminated with varying levels of E. coli and coliform, according to the newly released 2019 Airline Water Study conducted by DietDetective.com and Hunter College NYC Food Policy Center.

After attempting the usual round of running the network troubleshooter, resetting network settings or uninstalling and reinstalling the wifi adapter eventually the laptop reverts to only showing airplane mode for wifi options.

RHODES ISLAND, GREECE - JULY 24: Teams try to extinguish wildfires on Rhodes island, Greece on July 24, 2023. Some 19,000 people have been evacuated from the Greek island of Rhodes as wildfires continued burning for a sixth day, authorities said on Sunday. "This place is AMAZING! You'll get up close and personal with an expansive collection of vintage airplanes, all meticulously maintained. It's a true labor of love. There's a contagious passion for aviation and history in the atmosphere. This was easily one of my favorite museums I've ever been to."

"Impressive! Really friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. All of the planes fly and they have airshows. It's off the beaten path and totally worth it. We started our day here, then traveled to Cape Henry and then hit Virginia Beach. Made for a full and fun day!"

The flight tag is installed, i had installed it as non airplane mode, however when i turn on my dyson, the screen show airplane mode which diaable me to set the temperature. If i contact dyson, it can be repaired? Normally is that an issue with the battery? Thanks

Police have released bodycam footage of an incident on an American Airlines flight involving football player Odell Beckham Jr. The NFL free agent was on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in November when flight attendants, concerned that he was ill, asked him to leave the airplane before it took off, and he refused.

The bodycam footage from Miami-Dade Police Department shows officers approach Beckham Jr. in first class and ask if he can get up. After speaking to him briefly, one officer says "he looks good to me."

The number of unruly passenger incidents on airplanes increased during the pandemic. FAA Administrator Steve Dickson implemented a "zero-tolerance" policy in January 2021, when it became clear air travel was becoming unpredictable. American Airlines and Southwest Airlines both suspended In-flight alcohol sales at the beginning of the pandemic, and Dickson said the ban helped curb the number of unruly passenger incidents.

Officers serve a two-year assignment with the squadron, while enlisted personnel serve three to four. Replacements must be trained for about half of the team each year, providing a constant mix of experience.

The squadron performs approximately 75 demonstrations each year and has never canceled a demonstration due to maintenance difficulty. More than 300 million people in all 50 states and 58 foreign countries have seen the red, white and blue jets in more than 4,000 aerial demonstrations.

In addition to their responsibilities as the official U.S. Air Force aerial demonstration team, the Thunderbirds are part of our combat force. If required, the team's personnel and aircraft can be rapidly integrated into a fighter unit at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Since the aircraft are only slightly modified, they can be made combat-ready in less than 72 hours.

F-16 Fighting Falcon

The Lockheed Martin (formerly General Dynamics) F-16 represents the full range of capabilities possessed by the Air Force's tactical fighters. This highly maneuverable multi-role fighter has proven to be one of the world's best precision tactical bombers and air-to-air combat aircraft. The only modifications needed to prepare the aircraft for its air demonstration role are installing a smoke-generating system in the space normally reserved for the 20mm cannon, and the painting of the aircraft in Thunderbird colors.

History

The Thunderbirds were officially activated June 1, 1953, as the 3600th Air Demonstration Team at Luke AFB, Ariz. Their first aircraft was the straight-winged F-84G Thunderjet, a combat fighter-bomber that had seen action in Korea. Early in 1955 the team transitioned to the swept-winged F-84F Thunderstreak.

In June 1956, the team moved to its current home at Nellis. At the same time theThunderbirds traded the veteran F-84 for the world's first supersonic fighter, the F-100 Super Sabre -- an aerial platform that would serve the Thunderbirds for 13 years. More than 1,000 demonstrations were flown in the Super Sabre, thrilling spectators around the world. The team changed briefly to the Republic F-105 Thunderchief. After only six shows, in 1964, due to an extensive modification that became necessary on all Thunderchiefs, the Thunderbirds returned to the F-100.

From 1969 to 1973, the Thunderbirds flew the Air Force's front-line fighter, the F-4E Phantom. In 1974, the Thunderbirds converted to the T-38 Talon, the world's first supersonic trainer. The T-38 was more fuel-efficient and less costly to maintain than the larger F-4.

Early in 1983, the Thunderbirds reinstituted their traditional role of demonstrating the Air Force's front-line fighter capabilities. Transition to the F-16A allowed the team to retain manpower and fuel efficiency while demonstrating to spectators the latest in fighter technology.

In 1986, the Thunderbirds participated in the rededication flyby of the Statue of Liberty and in September, another milestone was attained when the team went over the 200 million mark for total attendance.

The largest crowd, 2.25 million people, to see a performance was at Coney Island, N.Y., July 4, 1987. The 1987 Far East tour marked their debut in Beijing, China -- the first American military demonstration performance in a Communist country.

Operation Desert Storm cancelled the 1990 European tour and the season was shortened. The team converted to the F-16C in 1992, bringing the F-16A era to an end.

In July 1996, the team participated in opening ceremonies of the Centennial Olympics held in Atlanta which were viewed by an estimated 3.5 billion people around the world.

The Thunderbirds made television history in 2003 while celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The commander/leader started the Coca-Cola 600 by broadcasting live from Thunderbird No. 1 as he said, "Gentlemen, start your engines."

In 2007, the Thunderbirds visited Europe for the first time since Sept. 11, 2001 with the European Goodwill Tour. The trip included shows in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom - and for the first time in Thunderbird history - Ireland.

In 2009, the Thunderbirds traveled back to the Pacific Rim, performing in locations like Malaysia, Guam, Australia, Korea and Japan. The team performed more than 70 shows in 22 states and Puerto Rico.

The 2010 season, the team's 57th year of performing, saw the team in 73 shows all over the United States and Canada. Spending more than 250 days on the road representing Airmen, millions of people have witnessed the Thunderbird demonstrations. In turn, they've seen the pride, professionalism and dedication of hundreds of thousands of Airmen serving at home and abroad. Each year brings another opportunity for the team to represent those who deserve the most credit: the everyday, hard-working Airmen voluntarily serving America and defending freedom. e24fc04721
