Thanks for everyones solutions, I actually got too frustrated trying to make shape bender work, I downloaded another extension called true bend and I was able to achieve the bend I was hoping for. I will try your suggestions to make shape bender and option for the future. Thanks again!

Not long ago I saw a question from a SketchUp user about how to draw a leg similar to the ones shown here. While thinking about how to draw it, I got to thinking about how much easier it is to draw complex shapes these days than when I first started using sketchUp back at version 3. There are some amazing plugins out there now that really stretch what you can draw with SketchUp. Many will save you a great deal of time, too.

I tried your link: -contact-page2/ But it is broken. I have downloaded first the Progressbar.rb into the Plugins folder, then your Shape Bender program into the plugins folder as well. I got the shape bender icon on my toolbar. I built a cone and saved it as a component. When I select the component, I click on the Shape Bender button, but when I move my mouse pointer from the toolbar to the component, the blue lines around the component disappear, and the mouse icon now contains a line below the arrow. However, I can not effect anything on the screen.

After entering in the SketchUp Home page, users have to create wide and long rectangle and click inward it which will take a shape of metal piece. Next this shape needs to be grouped and given a name. This shape may need to copy many times to give a cured look, users can use move tool and copy the object and paste it multiple time with a distant space. As Shape Bender extension allows to bend any object using a base line and a target line, so users need to fix these two lines first. The base line must be drawn on Red axis, the line is then need to copy and paste the line to make it a target line; it will be known as another base line. Using Arc Tool users can make the half of the line a barrier, using Rotate tool the line can be bended as a curve line. Previously the shapes were copied and pasted which made them look alike a sheet, this sheet need to be in group and shape bender tool will curve this group shit along the curve line.

Yes, Shape bender and SU to Components for Sketchup are invaluable. Would be so nice to get those in Microstation. By the way most of the nice sketchup additions are plugins..Why is there no such thing in Microstation. There were some back in the times...should be easy to write in VBA.

This is another useful sketchup extension tutorial presented by Justin Geis. The tutorial will provide some useful assistance to generate Hexagonal Lattice Shapes with the use of sketchup and shape bender.

The tool facilitates the users to indicate the specific area to be fit along a path and the shape bender plugin automatically sets the object along the path. The users can keep control of flipping the object either inside or outside the path area.

The shape bender plugin by Chris Fullmer is an extremely helpful tool which can increase your modeling efficiency. This plug in allows you to do minimal modeling, and quickly apply a group to a complex, elevated and/or curved path. 2351a5e196
