I'm going to buy one, but I'm wondering if I can use my android phone as a controller for some time. There are these apps called "Kontrol Traktor Controller" and "DJ Control" which should work but they ain't working for me.

I purchased a reloop beatpad and there is an issue with audio routing. Currently only master output works. There is no sound coming through the headphones so it is impossible to cue the next track. The only way I can use the beatpad is by looking at the waveform and guessing if it is in the correct place before fading in. Obviously this is pretty much useless and i would not feel comfortable taking this set up to a gig.

The connection procedure may be the cause.

Are you sure there is no way to decouple these? What signal comes in on inputs 5-6 in Serato mode? Is it the microphone alone? Is there no way to use the microphone input and vinyl control at the same time?

is there anyone that has successfully run mixxx on android tablets. I have been told that with the current 1.6 gig microprocessor chip\1 gig ram memory can do it with the eq and effects turned off. Mixxx is the only serious 3rd party software (free or not) that can run on LINUX based computers.

#3. Automatically resize skins!!! DjDecks.be is the best at autosizing and creating skins even better than Virtualdj,They even did their own version of serato and Traktor skins. You can even take a photo of an object and make it into a skin with the built in skin editor.Make all the skins into smaller tablet size if you can!!! It is about time MIXXX has a SERATO style skin with at least 6-10 hotcues per deck! Also no sticker drift with the hotcues!!!

There is no Android version of Mixxx, but it is not impossible. The underlying Qt library is already available for android. All third party libraries a available in source code, and Portaudio is available for android. But anyhow it will be a loot of work, and will take a lot of time. The biggest issue I can see is that Mixxx is currently designed for pointing devices and it does not work very well for Touch UI this is also interesting for the Windows 8 touch Laptops. The touch issue is covered in bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1152572. Feel free to file a bug for the Android Porting issue.
